  1. I agree with this man. totally. one thing about diarra, as good as he's looked, we've yet to see him actually have to do the defensive part of the defensive midfield postion- he's not yet faced deco, or worse deco and xavi, for example. in other words, so far we can only judge his peformances on what he has done with posession. the real tests are still to come.
  2. basically, you are repeating my point there... while somehow at the same time disagreeing with it.
  3. the issue this season was the short length of the pre season training, and the short gaps between games. as long as the pre season is spread out over a proper period of time it could take place on the moon.
  4. hold on, what has nolan actually done this season? I agree he deserves a chance, but the hype about him, particularly this season is excessive. jenas is by far the most talented of that lot, but he needs to be given a kick- if he gets consistently into the center of midfield and starts to boss games and apply his talent he'd be pushing into the top few central midfielders in the country.
  5. bolton are terrific- allardyce is great and deserves WAAAAAAY more credit than he gets IMO... before this season's purchase of anelka (and look how he has integrated him into his system) they were spending very, very little. he has got plenty out of players deemed "past it" or unwanted because of being difficult to man manage. their football is criticised by managers almost embarassed to see their sides beaten yet again, but in truth, they mix it- sure there are long balls, and sure, they are quality at set peices but people should learn from them rather than in wallow in their incompetence. they also, do play a bit of football- look at the type of players he uses in midfield- he rarely signs players who cannot use the ball. far better than mcclaren (obviously), and with more money I could see him only doing better... just wanted to say that.
  6. I think he'll get it once he retires to the j-league, maybe.
  7. as you know, the amount of men behind you matters not when you're one on one with the keeper.... well, unless you lack (that's bottle, not coke- we're talking henry, not mutu). goals are quite important I'd say... not that they exactly indicate great peformances, but no goals in x amount of cup finals... is that good? does it suggest something? as for drogba? best striker in the world right now? along with villa, how can you argue? p.s. as you know, totti broke his leg right before the world cup last year. a miracle he even got there- a shame, as italy would have been even better with the euro 2000 final motm fully fit!
  8. heh. good value. he put his head down and tried to dribble every time. it was sad to watch- he reminded me of vassel. but riddle me this- how many cup finals has henry played in over the course of his career, and how many of those did he score in? come to think of it, I can't remember even one. still, at least charlton are terrified.
  9. well, he did bottle the world cup and champions league final in the space of a month, but at least he doesn't- say it with me- go down like a woman.
  10. he seems exceptionally rubbish. you've only got a couple of real international players, but you've also got a lot of premiership standard ones- really, you should be doing a lot better IMO. at 100% of your potential I would expect to see ireland in major tournaments, or getting very close.
  11. you can really feel the love. this time, try visualising a giant picture of ballack's face, below these words. grinning, perhaps.
  12. yeah i just added that in case it was also relevant info.
  13. mmm- without being malicious, he is rubbish. comfortably, worse than eriksson (okay, this was obvious as an all round football manager, but even as an international manager, which takes some doing).
  14. thanks, and bah, 512mb ram. not good enough for vista I presume? (I've enough memory though...) 3.06 ghz... so, is there a way of "updating" the processor... without, obviously, buying a new computer.
  15. so where can I check my ram? somewhere on the computer? oh, nd updating won't affect anything I have, right?
  16. your selection of marlon harewood means that doesn't matter.
  17. he's also scored goals in the premiership, the CL, and caused damage to sides like us and united in the past... you saw how scared essien and ferreira were against him- okay, they aren't central defenders but no-one even contested headers with him. he's useful. people give him too much stick because he's tall- so what, he uses it well.
  18. harewood- you really, really don't like england, do you? crouch keeps getting selected, because, let's be fair, he's scoring a fair amount of goals and like him or not, he causes problems. he's worth his place in the squad for me, certainly moreso than the likes of defoe (he's less talented, but he uses everything he's got whereas defoe seems to stupid a footballer to ever get beyond the level he is at now- fighting for a place at spurs)... I'd have gone with baines and barry on the left side though, amazed that barry (form left sided player in the country IMO) didn't get the call to start. even in the formation that idiot mcclaren is playing, you'd think barry would get a go at left back to give some width there...
  19. paulo at right back would be obvious if bridge is fit.
  20. yeah, portability is the main thing- I got a 500gb one earlier today... what are the main selling points of vista, and can you download it? just for research, obviously.
  21. I'm looking for it- the one posted somewhere else was a link to his goal against united last season.
  22. don't give one f*ck about his nationality. he is a top quality player. I'd take him striaght away. trouble is, with all his injuries, he probably wants first team football guaranteed for the rest of his career. with carvalho here, that is something we can't assure him of.
  23. bah. okay, this is from physioroom.
