Posted February 6, 200718 yr -----------------Cech-------------------- ----Diarra----Ricci--JT--------Bridge--- ------------------Maka------------------- -------------Essien----Mikel------------- -----------------Lampard---------------- --------------Drogs-Shevchenko------- Thats the line-up IF Robben is still injured. If not he comes in for Mikel and goes to the left wing.
February 6, 200718 yr mikel is injured too. Expected to be out for a coulpe of weeks with a thigh strain!
February 6, 200718 yr Boro is a game that worries me. Downing vs Diarra is a worry, Bridgey missing the game is a worry, and Yakubu and Viduka vs Carvalho and either Essien (as great as he is) or JT after 6 weeks out is a worry. The mid-week internationals are also a worry given our track record this season with injuries... ...you may have gathered, I'm worried!
February 6, 200718 yr I'm not worried, I'm absolutely terrified about the thought of not having Bridge in the squad on the weekend.
February 6, 200718 yr Just saw the last fifteen minutes of Portugal vs Brazil friendly and Paulo seems to have played on the left side of the defence. In the worst case scenario we could use him as leftback. By the way, Ricky Carvalho scored a screamer, i'll try to find and post it. Carvalho goal vs Brazil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAg_ePdncTA
February 7, 200718 yr Just saw the last fifteen minutes of Portugal vs Brazil friendly and Paulo seems to have played on the left side of the defence. In the worst case scenario we could use him as leftback.By the way, Ricky Carvalho scored a screamer, i'll try to find and post it. Paolo is bad to the right, worse in the centre; I don't even want to think about him to the left
February 7, 200718 yr I'd hate to see Ferreira played anywhere else but on the right. I'd rather see Elmer as the leftback if Bridge is out.
February 7, 200718 yr mikel is injured too. Expected to be out for a coulpe of weeks with a thigh strain! So said the club however he miraculously played all 90 minutes for Nigeria last night (and allegedly he asked to only play 45)
February 7, 200718 yr I heard Mikel played with a calf injury and was ok but injured his ribs in the game
February 7, 200718 yr Paolo is bad to the right, worse in the centre; I don't even want to think about him to the left Oh please, dont be ridiculous. Paulo is a top right back, i wouldnt swap him for any..- actually , sorry but i just cant do this again.... If Bridgey doesnt play , im sure Paulo will be the left back. He has played there before a few times for us and i just cant see Jose picking anyone else. Anyone who thinks it will be Elmer is living in cloud cuckoo land!
February 7, 200718 yr It looks like Bridge will be out for 2 weeks! source? Bridge bolloxed for two weeks - The Times
February 7, 200718 yr So the team: -------------------Cech Diarra-----Riccy--------JT-------Ferriera -----------------Maka -------Essien--------------Frank ---------------Ballack ----------Sheva--------Drogs The main problem here being that Paulo will not give us the attacking width that Bridgy does. That's quite a problem in that formation.
February 7, 200718 yr Author Is there a week that no one gets injured ??? Paulo at the left, Ballack in midfield then
February 7, 200718 yr It looks like Bridge will be out for 2 weeks! source? Bridge bolloxed for two weeks - The Times "Chelsea?s squad has been severely tested by injuries this season, particularly at the back, with Petr Cech, Carlo Cudicini, John Terry, Khalid Boulahrouz and Cole spending long periods on the sidelines. Such problems have been exacerbated by Mourinho?s decision last summer to rely on a small, close-knit squad and with midfield players filling in, the champions have won only three of their past six league matches, allowing Manchester United to build up a six-point lead at the top." This is a man responsible for our poor perfomance this season. All people must know it. Sh*te!!!! By the way maybe Boula will be back and will take his place on a left flank???
February 7, 200718 yr Paolo is bad to the right, worse in the centre; I don't even want to think about him to the left Oh please, dont be ridiculous. Paulo is a top right back, i wouldnt swap him for any..- actually , sorry but i just cant do this again.... If Bridgey doesnt play , im sure Paulo will be the left back. He has played there before a few times for us and i just cant see Jose picking anyone else. Anyone who thinks it will be Elmer is living in cloud cuckoo land! Well we just disagree on this. I don't think Ferreira is good as RB now. In his first season he was great but lately he's been quite bad.
February 7, 200718 yr I heard Mikel played with a calf injury and was ok but injured his ribs in the game Not according to their manager http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... t+straight
February 7, 200718 yr I heard Mikel played with a calf injury and was ok but injured his ribs in the game Not according to their manager http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... t+straight Loz if you expect me to believe him in front of our Manager then to be honest I have to admit..your right and I do:lol:
February 8, 200718 yr I also heard Ballack "limped off". I suspect that some of these guys are more focussed on the premiership right now than the national team. I think we need Ballack right now. borough will be quite tough opposition, woodgate seems to have stiffened their defence up heaps
February 8, 200718 yr Indeed ballack has injured himself, might be out for 2 to 3 weeks with a, yip you guesed it, a thigh strain! However, according to physioroom, I read that Robben and Boulah are meant to be back this week. Although I doubt they will be comming back to first team play straight away For me it could be that we line up like this ..........................cech diarra........terry.........carvs.....Paulo ......................maka ...essien..............................lamps .......sheva....................kalou .......................drogba Either that, or you resort to the diamond with kalou at its tip behind sheva and drogs Scott
