Well at least City dropped points.

A poor performance is also a poor performance, I'm grateful for the goal and fabulous assist. But I wouldn't have been one bit surprised if he was taken off at halftime, for every bad performance he did that I wouldn't mind, however that's not the case is it, lets wait and see if Oscar does the real deal for the end of the season. Here I am hoping.

I'm not sure about Luis, I thought his play was pretty poor when he came on. From what I've seen of Luis I still don't know what to make of him, looks like a very good attacker then he doesn't, I rate him though, I have no fears of him starting should Azpilicueta be out for a while.

Things go your way, they did today, as I pointed out. Newcastle were unfortunate.

I like to look at the bigger picture. There are games that don't go our way, and games that do. This game went our way, could have been 1-0 or 2-0 down the first half. However we won and that what counts. But can we rely on the likes of Oscar and Willian when things don't go our way? I'm not so sure, Salah is a waste on the bench, Mourinho doesn't rate him, we should get an upgrade, someone we can rely on to bring in the games we are struggling and need more creativity and width. Oscar improved in the 2nd half for sure, however first half was shocking. I hope we get a good consistency from him this time, last season he went sh*t around early February and that was it for the rest of the season

We need to offload Salah and get a creative player asap. He just doesn't offer enough going forward.

Luis has been shocking!

Despite the goal Oscar was easily the worst in the side, gave the ball away countless times. He is nowhere near the same class as Hazard or Fab, they can take a good touch just about anywhere Oscar seems to struggle when he doesn't have space.

Our play is still so sloppy.

If we don't win today I will be seriously worried. Not winning today shouldn't even be in the question, not underestimating them but we couldn't come up against a better side right now. We couldn't have a better side to take our frustrations on, they still don't have a manager I believe? We should be smashing these, not scraping a victory, I expect a good solid win just like last season.

Can I just say I have never ever seen one of these things in real life? Yet they seem to be a huge problem for everyone else.

Are people seriously going to get carried away because he played well? Sorry but that is just bloody ridiculous, you do realise this is Lionel Messi right? If you're going to change your opinion because of that game you haven't been watching him. He's arguably the greatest player ever, there is not one person who doesn't think he would come into this side and not be the best player by some distance. The only reason many of us don't want him is because of FFP and that it would be tricky to fit him into the current system.

I think it's pretty obvious, he is putting pressure on the referees so those decisions wont happen again. As much as many don't like it that's football for you. You can only blame the F.A. for getting themselves in this mess. Look at Foy he was absolutely terrified to send Cahill off when everyone knew that it was a definite 2nd yellow.

I don't see why we can't just play Remy and not Costa, Costa is definitely our main man but Remy is impressing, a lot more than I thought he would. It might even give Costa something to think about, Costa loves a challenge it seems. Personally I don't like playing two strikers, not with our system however with the state Newcastle are in right now, perhaps we could afford that? Might even work out to be the better choice.

Atletico still look a very very strong side.

I'm not fully convinced on Sanchez as stupid as it may sound, he hasn't had a full season yet. If he is playing the same way consistently through the 2nd season I would easily class him a great player. As of now though how many players have we seen do this? Ozil was just one of them last season, he basically made the whole Arsenal team tick and they were first in the league for a good while. Got to say though Hazard is a distance above Sanchez in ability, I would only class Aguero a better player than Hazard in the league as Aguero appears to have just about everything in his locker.

Some of the posts in this thread are absolutely fantastic. I didn't expect people to look at the bigger picture. You see the possibility of signing arguably one of the greatest ever players and you don't think past that. But what you have to realise is that with the big pros Messi will bring to the team there are huge cons. We are a team, we are building a team, we grab someone like Messi who is expected to sign every game, it is hard to say no to Messi but given the FFP situation and our system you have to raise some questions on it. Will he even be able to suit the system? Is the Premier League for him? We aren't exactly that sure. If he came here he would obviously be the best player in the team but there is always a bigger picture, it just isn't that simple, I really hope in the end we don't sign him, the only player we should go in for I believe is Reus who appears to be going for a bargain eventually. Besides that we shouldn't be splashing the cash on anyone.

I take back what I said, we should be above City come the end of the month. Didn't realize they had all that coming up. If City get through this month above us, they are going to take some beating, not even sure I will come out confident. They should be without Aguero and Toure this month I believe, Kompany maybe? Not sure if he is back or not.

Has to be a win, this couldn't be a better game to play after such a wicked loss. Vent our frustrations on these twats, they only ever like to show up against us, that's all there season relies on, lets f**k them.

The big reason I didn't want Liverpool in the semi. This month is going to be a struggle, I don't like it already. Yes we are better than Liverpool, but this is Liverpools highlight of the season, we have bigger fish to fry, I think that is going to be a major factor in the upcoming games against them. With that going on in the background we have plenty of league games to play, can see us dropping points to be perfectly honest. I'm negative about this month, not saying we are going to lose the league by any means, I still believe we will win this but prepare yourself, city have a good chance of overtaking us this month like it or not. Although I hold my hands up to not knowing who City play this month, I know we play them at the end of the month, I would rather win that game than advance to the cup final, that game is a must win for me, it will show what we are really about. I also believe City have one hard game before they play us, Arsenal I think, I'm not sure. Either way I expect that sack of sh*te to bend over backwards.
