Not sure who the third big money signing would be. If Hulk is the second then there does not seem the need to sign a striker for a big fee. When Hulk/Danny/Lukaku(if not loaned) could be backup to Torres. Nor does there seem a need for another midfield option when we still have Romeu, Mikel, Essien, Lampard, Ramires and Meireles who can play in the two deeper roles. Could be we still want Modric, or maybe a big price paid for a new right back?

That would be a big salary, and both Lamps and JT have pay parity with the top earner, likely Torres does as well, which would see our wage bill shoot up big time. tbh I would be rather surprised if Hulk got wages that high, but can certainly see Porto selling for no less than 40mill euros, they probably will end up wanting more.

He has 3 good options in my opinion. A lot would depend on what else was being promised. What else United would add to their side, where he would play at City and with who. How else would Chelsea strengthen if he signed for us etc etc. If we told him he'd have a midfield working with him that included Lampard, Ramires, Mata and Hulk then that would probably sound good. Only draw back would be no Drogba.

Nothing on their live feed about that yet, was that the Belgium FA who said he could or what? Was just going to say this. We like to announce new signings in the main bulletin rather than the 5PM highlights. Given how strong the link is to us or United, would be rather funny if he ended up at City. If it is a net wage of 110k a week then with the tax in the UK being around 50% for footballers and top sportsmen/women then his gross salary would be 220k would it not?

€13m for Guarin seems rather cheap to me, wonder why Porto let him go for that? Hulk is Portos crown jewel so getting him "cheap" is not an option. We could get others for far less imo, ones we have chased before, like Ãlvaro Pereira or Moutinho; however why settle for less than their best? Ramires, David Luiz, Ricky, Paulo, all top of the tree when we bought them.

I can, that is how Porto do it. They are well off enough not to sell for less than the price they want. Is simple, we want the guy we have to pay what Porto want.

Reports say Porto want 50mill Euro so around 40mill pounds. They are very good at holding out for the fee they want and do not drop it by much, if at all. If we want Hulk, or any player from them, especially after what happened with AVB, we will have to pay a premium.
