CFCDocker
Good move from the club, Presume 4 years would be the perfect time for Courtois to have made the step up

axman2526
Has really got back to his very best this season. Been a long time coming getting past what happened at Reading. Well deserved new deal and good news for the club.
loz
Excellent news and fully deserved. Even when he had a temporary blip in form he was still one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in the world and we would have been insane to replace him.
TheWestwayWonder
what a hero that man is Agreed. For me as big a hero last saturday night as DD. Completely owned our 18 yard box all night, guessed all 6 penalties right, and saved or deflected half of them. It doesnt get much better than that. shahilsyed
I can't forgive what Cech did to Ivanovic against Liverpool last year. Cech is a disgrace to the club. I'm not happy at this.

All that was was a bit of passion. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

What a ridiculous comment. The goalkeeper is the boss in his penalty box, Cech went for a ball which was his all day long and Ivan screwed up. All Cech did was make it damn clear to Ivan he had screwed up. I have no problem with that. Ivan took the hump and to be honest I have no problem with that either. It was all forgotten about in no time, apart from by you it seems!
Bobbywoodhogan
Fantastic news, still think we need a decnt backup to him as I believe Courtois is going back out on loan to AM right?
The Moos
He was one of our heroes in winning the two titles this year and It's great to see him get rewarded with this new contract. I just hope that the club handles the situation with Courtois and Cech well. We could potentially have two world class keepers on our hands. dkw
I can't forgive what Cech did to Ivanovic against Liverpool last year. Cech is a disgrace to the club. I'm not happy at this. So lets ignore him being outstanding in the games against Napoli, Benfica, Barcelona and last but not least Munich in the final to have a massive hand in winning our first ever CL and call him a disgrace because he had an argument with Ivanovic, the same kind of argument that happens dozens of times a season at every club. What a wonderful fan you are.
dkw
I expect those 4 years will see a natural handing over of the keeping gloves to Courtois after about 2 or 3 seasons then staying on as back up and to help the new guy settle hopefully.

Petr will only be 34 which isn't exactly old for a keeper and I would be surprised if he wanted to be a backup.

Petr will only be 34 which isn't exactly old for a keeper and I would be surprised if he wanted to be a backup. I actually thought he was about 32-33 but it you`re right, he`s only 30. We might see Courtois out on loan for longer than I thought.
loz
It could actually result in a manager having to make a big decision. If Courtois goes out on loan fo say two more seasons and continues to develop and show the sort of form he has so far then there may come a time when Cech will need to be dropped to make space for him so as to avoid the risk of him wanting to move elsewhere.
