  1. Why even give the ref a chance JT, you KNOW Uefa appointed him to help Barca through you idiot!
  2. Oh Cahill and JT off, well then 10-0 Barca. What on earth is JT thinking there, not the man we normally see that is Drogbas job to over-react.
  3. Cahill goes off, Brana goes in to the middle and we make a defensive error now there is a surprise... Was a nice dream while it lasted, credit to the lads for coming back against Napoli and getting this far.
  4. Who have Mikel down as our most likely player to be sent off today?
  5. What system have Barca switched to with Pique coming off?
  6. Essien would have been a better choice at right back, as would Paulo (were he on the bench). Hell Torres would be better there...
  7. Done and dusted then, we need Cahill Brana makes too many positional errors at CB. Feel for Cahill, awful blow in the biggest game of his career.
  8. Win 0-2? Cannot see us keeping Barca out for a combined two games lol. Think Moos is just being realisitic, in order to beat Barca at home we needed a top ref to perform well and fair, to take the only good chance we made, Barca to miss a few sitters, Cech to save what he could and what he could not be cleared by the last man or the woodwork. A lot of luck in there, and we need MORE than that tonight as it is at the Camp Nou, do we really believe we are that lucky after the way the season has turned out? Far as what Jose has said, of course he wants us to beat Barca so he can gloat and because, as he showed with Inter, he would have no trouble in doing us over tactically again in any potential final.
  9. More than happy for the lads to prove me wrong on Tuesday wxwax, we shall see.
  10. Can only see this ending in one of three ways: 1) Barca turn up and play their very best, proving too be too much for us and having everyone praising their style overcoming our spoiler tactics. 2) Barca do not reach their top heights however we make silly errors that hand the game to them at key points. 3) Barca do not reach their top heights and we do, playing well only for the ref to hand the game to Barca with Red cards/Pen/Disallowed goals/Ghost goals given. 1, 2 or 3 leading to Barca reaching the final and the media headlines reading "Pain in Spain for Blues"
  11. Agree with Zeta's side, though would have to gauge how Torres is doing in training, his willingness to play deep on the right and then attempting to break in behind Barca. Does not suit Mata to be asked to cover that side and we will likely lose him as an effective player if we ask him to do so again. If Torres does not seem in the right frame of mind to step in to that role then either Kalou or Boswinga would be an option there. Either offers pace and the ability to break. Problem is they are likely to mess up the final ball more often than Torres will do.
  12. Overall cannot complain too much about this result. For one we changed many of the side, resting key players and still held Arsenal in their own back yard. Now if we win our game in hand on them we go 4 points off them. Still very unlikely to go above them now but they are not out of sight at least. For another Spurs lost, leaving us 1 point behind them and 4 off the Toon. We HAVE to beat Newcastle at home to have a chance of top 4, but we have 3 out of 4 games at home to end the season on so that is a plus. Add to that we would scream blue murder if we played our first 11 today, lost some to injury and still lost, and then went out to Barca. At least if we go out now, we know Robbie tried to give a rest to many of the key players.
  13. lol you guys expect anything else from Danny? Not been used in the recent games, he has one focus. Do it all himself to get back the spotlight. Late winner for the gooners coming up me thinks...
  14. RDM showed his intent for this game, sensing the chance of being in the CL final and willing to risk 3 points that would all bar knock us out of the race for the top 4. Risky. I can see Arsenal winning this one, which will hit our momentum ahead of our trip to the camp nou.
  15. Going to be hard against a rested Arsenal side. Either the emotion of Wednesday will carry us through with another great display, or all our sererves will have been depleted and the arsenal will pick us off. Robbie will have to check on the fitness of the squad, but would imagine resting the likes of Drogba will happen, maybe Lamps, Cole and Ramires too.
  16. Trying not to get the hopes up for the end result, because we have been here too many times. Either Barca will produce their best and put us out, or they wont/we play amazing and the ref will put us out. One or the other...
  17. An amazing result, being able to have put together 90 plus mins to defeat the "best side in the world". However at Camp Nou we needed a bigger advantage imo, 3-0 or greater. One that would have left Barca knowing one mistake and they would need 5 goals, 2 mistakes and it would be 6. One mistake now and they need 3 goals, and that is well within their locker. Still many believed we would be hammered in both games and the lads have done us proud. Though the stats for our home game make what we are likely to face at Camp Nou all the more fearsome.
  18. The cup final is on May 5th, moving our league match at Anfield to May 8th. So tin hat time for the away supporters if we get done in the final...
  19. Harry and Adabayor complain here, not just about the Mata "goal" but about Spurs goal too: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/7676688/Adebayor-Killing-the-game Adabayor wanted Cech sent off in addition to the goal being award, while Harry would rather ech went and Spurs got the pen. You complain about the ref not doing his job lads then complain when he follows the laws of the game and gives an advantage for you to score?
  20. Some of Robbies choices seem likely, where as past choices offer a few curve balls. We know, if fit, Cech will start, as will JT, Cole and Brana at the back. If Luiz is out then Cahill will get the nod. Given Essien and Meireles did not play today is is likely Robbie had plans for them against Barca? Likewise Torres? Does leave me to wonder, or is it a case of that he will use his regular favs against Barca then bring in the rest against Arsenal between the two ties? I'm not sure but he has favoured Torres, Meireles and co in europe so maybe something along the lines of: Cech - Brana, Cahill, JT, Cole - Essien, Lampard - Ramires, Meireles, Mata - Torres.
  21. At least we did not go to ET against Spurs, but losing Luiz is a big blow/ In the european games he is more likely to deal better with Messi and co than Cahill.
  22. Like Gem said the focus will be on "the evil Chelsea" and our lack of respect for the 96, and how the "glorious good" Liverpool will gain vengance in the final.
  23. Good result but at what price ahead of the Barca games? Would look forward to the FA cup final a lot more if it did not seem Liverpools destiny to lift a cup double this season...
