Yeah you're right there but his form really started to pick up the tail end of the season. Maybe if he gets the Golden Boot in the Confederations Cup it will give him confidence to take into next season cos being completely honest I don't think he's going anywhere.

Let's just admit that he's never going to be the terrifying goal machine he was with Liverpool. But can we accept that he'll probably just be a decent, 20 goal a season second choice striker for us?

I would. I'd be downright p***ed off too, to be honest. We really are aiming to be doing a lot better than we did last season in the league, cos despite finishing 3rd we were 14 points behind the champions in the end, and that's not acceptable for a club like Chelsea. We need a top draw striker.

Well Torres has come out as saying he wants to convince Jose to make him number one striker again next season. I really can't see that to be honest. Even if Torres ends up staying he won't be number one choice, no way. I doubt he'd even be second choice if we get another striker in.

Fair enough. I was leaning more towards Mata staying anyway, but I was just saying I always liked David Luiz. Could be a moot point as they could both be staying, but I just wanted to hear fans' opinions on this. Also if they could tell us which players they would like to see leave the club.

I don't know where the idea of Mata leaving even came from, why on earth would we sell him? I can understand why Jose is apprehensive about keeping Luiz, because he isn't exactly a solid defender. But there's no doubt he gives his all when he pulls on the shirt and I'd miss his cracking free kicks and the way he can boss the midfield. I think the interim got him playing to his strengths, like it or not. There's plenty of talk of Torres leaving and Mourinho has given out strong hints himself but Torres is very quick to shoot them down regularly by insisting he's going nowhere.

I take it you're thinking keep Mata? Hmmm. Yeah hard pushed I would have to agree but i'd be gutted to see Luiz go. He's a rubbish defender but great in midfield and can score some cracking free kicks. I'll miss his antics too.

Who would you rather part with? Seems like a crazy question and I should hope it's neither of them, but if we had to sell one, who would be your choice to leave?

He's pretty adamant he's staying at Chelsea. There was yet another article on SSN today where he stated he's ready for talks with Jose and is excited to hear his plans for him next season.

Well I don't think we have Suarez to worry about unless we play Real Madrid at some point next season.

Interesting news snippet on SSN today simply saying 'Mourinho gives his strongest hint yet that Fernando Torres is heading out of Stamford Bridge as he hopes to bring Wesley Snjider to Chelsea.'

I'd have to disagree with SOME of that. I believe he IS thinking about what's best for himself, not the club. I'm one of his biggest fans, but Chelsea comes first.

I really do like the guy, that's obvious, but I have to say this whole thing he keeps banging on about 'honouring his contract' is really p***ing me off. For one thing, he didn't care one s**t for his contract while he was playing for Liverpool- he still had three years left on the one he signed when he decided to force through a move here because Liverpool weren't winning anything. Fair enough, every player wants to challenge for and win major trophies, you can't blame him. However, it is making him look stupid that he keeps saying he signed a contract and wishes to honour it. The contract has NOTHING to do with it, Fernando. Had we not won a button since you signed, you'd probably be only too happy to p**s off to Barcelona. It's fairly obvious he wants to stay because a) he is on a ridiculous amount of money and b) because we are an incredibly successful club that wins trophies more or less every season. Yes, he may want to work under Jose (who wouldn't?) but I really just wish he'd be honest about the reason he doesn't want to leave and stop treating us fans like d**ks. Rant over.

I imagine one of the key things Roman and Jose discussed before he signed was that Jose would have the main say in the squad.

They are hardly on a pedestal. Yes they are up there with United as the two most successful clubs in England but Liverpool have not done anything of note since they won the CL in 2005 and as for the league, need i say more? I was 6 years old when Liverpool last won a league title, i'm 29 now. I don't hold what Benitez said about us against him. It was a t**tty thing to say but he was managing our rivals at the time. He came, ignored the haters, got us top three and won us a trophy. Now he's gone. Jose's back, what harm was done? Like i said, i hate United and Spurs. That's about it.

He's shown fleeting glimpses of the player he was (the goals against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Benfica to name but a few) and it's moments like that, and the player he once was, that make me feel sad at his decline. The Torres of Liverpool would have got us the league and CL double cos we have far better players than Liverpool did.

Yes, Liverpool is an amazing city. Full of culture and beautiful historic buildings. I don't support LFC like the majority of my family do but i wouldn't slate them simply because they are my city's team and my Dad loves them dearly. However, when they play us, it's a different story. ;-) but only when they play us, the only teams i dislike are United and Spurs. I'm indifferent to Arsenal and Everton.

I do love him as a player cos when he's on his game he's unbeatable but we don't see enough of that, and i just can't see Jose making him his number 1 striker. I really can't.
