I honestly reckon we'll have him for at least one more season. Or maybe till January if by that point things aren't going his way.

I'm not bitter towards Liverpool at all. I'm a born and bred scouser and my family are mostly Liverpool fans. My uncle from Essex got me into Chelsea when i was 15. I'm a woman so my dad never bothered trying to get me into the football, he saved that for my brother. I have no ill feelings towards them though for these reasons. But i think most Chelsea fans feel bitterness due to our CL clashes, particularly that Luis Garcia goal that wasn't.

We have never really flourished with two strikers upfront though, not in recent years. Unless u count Drogba and Anelka a few seasons ago. If we get Cavani and he starts banging them in and Jose gives Lukaku a crack of the whip and HE plays well, where would that leave Torres? Yes he cost us 50 million but one of the first things i imagine that Jose said to Roman was that he won't have his hand forced.

I would be very surprised if we don't sign a striker. Cavani is a huge possibility.

If Jose decides he doesn't want/need Torres or Torres isn't delivering he won't play him. Simple as that. And i can't see Torres being happy on the bench. Last time he was benched a lot he had plenty to say about it after we won the CL.

It looks like he'll be here for the duration of his contract. On SSN it said he said he has no intention of leaving and is looking forward to working with Jose, he'll see out the five and a half years. I like that he wants to stay, but again with the s**t about honouring his contract. It's cos of the money he's on and the fact we win trophies, it's nothing to do with his contract. He had one at Liverpool he didn't honour so it's all a bit awkward.

Ancelotti didn't want Torres. He also said at the end of 10/11 just before he left that he thought the whole transfer of Torres was badly handled.

Never rule out United. So many people do this and they constantly prove people wrong. United have never finished outside the top three during the entire Premier League. Fergie might be retired but he isn't gone, he'll have an influence. I'd love to see United collapse but i won't hold my breath.

I know it's only speculation and it isn't fact that Mourinho doesn't rate his defensive capabilities but he is actually a class player. Whether we like it or not Rafa got the best out of him and knew where to play him and second half of the season he was one of our stand out players. I'd really hate us to lose him, to be honest. I saw him as a future Captain.

Torres did say a few times before he signes for us that he would like to play in Italy someday in the future. He's going to be 30 next season so he might have to think about it.

To say Torres is worth only 5 million is extremely harsh. He is still a quality player, he's just inconsistent. I'd say around the 15 million mark would be closer to his valuation. I'm not thinking that we won't want to sell Torres, i'm thinking Torres will refuse to leave.

Even if Jose doesn't want him, Roman does. Roman always has. He paid 50 million for the guy and had been after him for the best part of 7 years before he landed him. It'll take some mega special offer to make the Russian part with his Spaniard.

I'm just concerned that even if we sign a top striker that the same old 'Torres cost 50 million so he leads the line and starts every game' stuff will still happen. It's obvious by my username i like the guy, but i'm thinking about the good of the team.

Well i'm very well aware that he's nothing like the Torres that played for Liverpool but u have to admit that this last season has been a dramatic improvement on the season and a half before. I was honestly quite surprised to look at those goal statistics.

I watch every game and sometimes go the match if i can get time off work to go down to London. But i never realised his league return was so poor, he seems to have scored a fair few goals for us since he signed, the majority of which must be in Europe.

Not even two and a half yet. That can't be true, surely? How many goals has he scored for us in the league since he signed? About 20?
