I think the game would have been completely different had they not gotten a goal off that JT deflection after only 3 minutes. We defended poorly from a few corners, but apart from that, they weren't able to penetrate the defence really in the entire game. Had we not gone down early on, we could have been more patient with our build up, because Mata and Hazard looked too pressured the entire game.
Only exception was for the second goal which came about as a result of the high line we were having to play, because we'd conceded that early goal. I feel like Moses would have been the best player to bring on after we went 2-0 down, we could have used his direct running and strength, because we weren't getting any penetration either.
All in all i don't think we should be too concerned with it. The obvious problem for me was the same as it has been all season, and that is that Torres just isn't being clinical enough up front. He did well with his hold up play, showed good strength and footwork when he went out wide or deep, but when the big 3 are looking for him to give them an option in the box, he always looks so crowded out and usually wastes the ball.
Sturridge looked more dangerous when he came on, i'd like to see him get a run of games (starting after this weekend, United isn't the team to experiment against).
