  1. Surely not in a million years would Roman appoint Harry Redknapp as manager of Chelsea FC. Can you imagine the two of them meeting or having a conversation? Roman wouldn't have a clue what hes going on about.
  2. Well whoever comes in, if they can teach Torres how to score, Luiz how to position himself, and Mikel how to play football, i'll bow down to him as a god.
  3. This is the first time I have ever been embarrassed to be a Chelsea fan, disgusting. edit: Not even RA has been this rash with a sacking before, surely this means that they've already arranged something with Guardiola..?
  4. I've still yet to see us outplayed by any team this season, with the exception of THAT Atletico game. Let's not forget that. The most annoying thing to me is how everything has started turning sour after that atrocity against United & Clattenburg in the league. Without that we may very well have won our league games since then, so frustrating to know Fergie and the FA have got us again.
  5. His first league start of the season and we're 12 games in, clearly he feels pressured to score goals to work his way into the team. If he can get a run of a few games, build up his confidence, and realize that he doesn't have to snap at every ball he gets, he links up with Mata & co. far better than Torres, and he'll get his head up and start making the right choices with the ball.
  6. Can't say its his fault, when you only have 2 strikers in the team, and only 1 of them is bothered to try and score, and you're forced by your boss to play him week in week out, what more can he do. Only think you can fault him for is resting so many players, but if we get a win against Juve it will be worth it. 6 points behind if United win today, and its only mid November. People are forgetting City were like 10 points behind in March when they won the title? Quit being so melodramatic everyone, if we pick up Falcao in January we're good to go.
  7. If theres one thing to take from this game, its that Sturridge needs to be starting ahead of Torres. I've never been a nando basher, i've always tried my best to show faith in him, but honestly tonight was the worst performance i think i've ever seen him give, and the contrast with Sturridge who was making runs and creating chances. It's just clear thats what we have to do, at least until the transfer window opens.
  8. Thought Azpi had been average in his few sub appearances this season, but he was immense in the game and didn't let anything by. Seemed to offer more than Iva as a right back, because he has the pace to get back and defend when we lose the ball and hes up the field, unlike Iva who has been getting caught out quite a few times this season. Ramires and Oscar both played brilliantly too, hard to pick between the 3 of them.
  9. Really? Blaming Marin, Ferreira and Sturridge for this result when only one of them even played, and it was for the last 5 minutes? This is the best squad we've had in quite a few years, and once the likes of Mata/Hazard/Oscar/Romeu/Bertrand/Cesar/De Brunye/Marin/Moses/Lukaku/etc. get better accustomed to playing together and get more experience at this level, this will easily be the best squad we've ever had.
  10. Pretty disappointed in how pessimistic a lot of people are on here, we lost 2 points but its early days, lets not forget we've gotten wins over arsenal + spurs, and completely outplayed liverpool + united despite dropping points to them. We're only a handful of points behind still and its early november, United will have a drop of form, especially if RVP gets injured which will f**k their season right up. City are clearly playing terribly and its only dzeko's supersub goals keeping them in this title race. So long as we can keep within touching distance of the Manchester clubs into January, and get ourselves a clinical finisher, i'd still count us as title favorites.
  11. We defended well against Liverpool on the whole, you could see the world of difference it made having JT on the field. Get a better DM and use Terry and Cahill as the first choice CB pairing.
  12. berbatov is exactly the player we needed, we don't need someone who is necessarily going to run his ass off all game, just someone with a quality first touch and then an accurate, reliable finish, who can put away the plethora of chances our little 3 are producing.
  13. Were we watching the same game? It looked like Hazard spent half the game having to track behind Bertrand after he dived into a tackle or got dragged out of position, i thought he did far more defending than would be expected, last night at least.
  14. I can't see him getting 13 goals this season, given that Mikel and Ramires are settling into a fairly solid partnership. I'd favour him to get maybe 6 or 7 more this season, then most likely leave. Would be nice to have him stay on another season and pick up the last few though!
  15. Well if he is, it's not a very good disguise.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9sNJTKbx0wk ^Clip of his only professional goal so far. Will have to see more of him before passing judgement, but considering how long we've been watching him, i'm sure hes quality.
  17. Is Marin still injured or something? He looked so good in preseason, I could swear i saw him on the bench for Sunday's game, why isn't he getting game time!
  18. Should be a great game to watch and an epic atmosphere.
  19. We haven't needed the help of the refs to attain our achievements, which is something Man Utd apparantley can't do.
  20. Being only 20 years old, and a Chelsea fan for roughly 12 years (was too young to really have an interest before that), I'm sure my views on who our biggest rival or worst enemy are, would be completely different to those of you that have been around the club for decades. For example I see a lot of people on here have a special distaste for Spurs, when in the last decade or so, there has been far less cause to dislike them as opposed to the likes of United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Then there are even older rivals like Leeds and Milwall who again, have not been prominent in our recent history. Personally i see United as the team thats been our greatest rival in recent years, particularly post-Roman when it's really only been the two of us fighting it out for the title ever since Henry & co. left the gooners. Apart from that, I think i echo the sentiments of most Chelsea fans when i saw how frustrating its been to be cheated out of points against them, not only referring to Sunday, but whats been happening for as long as i can remember. My distaste for Arsenal has been mostly replaced by pity, although I still very much enjoy handing Liverpool a beating. If any older fans could shed light on the reasons for our old rivalries it would be great, i'm always looking to learn more about the club and our history. Ps. Sorry if theres been another recent topic on this subject, i'm only new around these forums.
  21. Well for a start, all 4 midfielders are purely attacking minded, perhaps with the exception of ramires who for some reason is stuck on the right wing when his best performances have come from his drives from deep. Could possibly work against weak teams, but teams who actually pose any sort of attacking threat would rip us apart through the middle when oscar and mata are running around up the pitch. Dunno which of those midfielders are supposed to be the ones winning the ball back, and aerially, all 4 of them are tiny.
  22. Considering he almost single handedly delivered us the greatest moment and achievement in the history of our club, it's only fair. If he'd done this 20 years ago i'm sure everyone would agree, but because it's so recent, older fans feel older players are more deserving. Not anything against Zola though, great player and great man.
  23. If there's an FA inquiry, he only has to be found guilty on the balance of probabilities (as opposed to the beyond reasonable doubt required in a criminal trial). Surely if there are numerous witnesses, then on the balance of probabilities he did make the remark?
  24. Theres only Juan, Juan Mata
