MHedges
Everton boss David Moyes wants to loan Chelsea star Michael Mancienne Everton boss David Moyes wants to take England hopeful Michael Mancienne on a season's loan from FA Cup Final rivals Chelsea. Moyes sees Mancienne (above), 21, who is highly rated by Fabio Capello, as a replacement for injured Phil Jagielka and talks have already begun over a move. TheWestwayWonder
He is ready for regular top flight football, for sure, but i would have my reservations about shipping him out if we are also going to rid ourselves of a fullback or two. If we lose Paulo and/or Belletti, we might be thin at the back, even with Ivanovic's ability to play fullback. Say Paulo goes this summer RB: Belletti/Bosingwa/Ivan CB: Terry/Alex/Riccy/Ivan LB: Cole/Bosingwa i guess its enough depth, but we should be able to recall him if need be. Will everton agree to that? BlueBeard
I don't think the return option is available in season-long loans, though I may be wrong (no, never, I hear you all screaming!) I think Mancienne should stay at Chelsea next season and start pushing for a place in the first team. We could afford to let Ferreira & Belletti go, which would not only give Mancienne more opportunities, but would also lower the club's wage bill. geezer
They want him on a season long loan? Yeah? Well they can f**k off. He's ready to step up for us now not someone else. See ya Ricky, it's been a pleasure.
PloKoon13
No thanks. Mancienne should be at least second choice next season.
Tim
Agree with the above. There is no way we should be loaning him out. The club need to make big decisions regarding our defenders this summer, but Mancienne should not be going anywhere whatever else they decide. jordanl5182
Realistically Michael would be our 4th choice centre back next season if Riccy goes. That should be reason enough to keep him.

Whenever I quote something from Football Manager everyone says its just a game and not reliable for data, but so far it's never failed me as far as factual league information, so here goes: I believe you can send someone on loan for any time period and have a return option available...so long as they are not paying you a fee for their services. They can still pay for their wages, but any one time fees takes the option of a return off the table.
mad_mac
Absolutely flattered that Moyes realizes he's first team potential for Everton, that is great praise for the lad. But I agree with all who have posted here so far. no way should we let him go. I think we will see Paulo, Juliano, and Percy all leave in the summer. That means Mancienne would become 3rd choice RB, 4th choice CB, and probably 3rd choice LB also. With the injuries we have had to our back 4 over the last couple of seasons, it would be foolish to then let Mancienne go also. Scott
PloKoon13
With Carvalho permanently on the injury table and JT held together by sellotape, it would be nuts to let him go. There's no way we can rely on Alex and Ivanovic alone, as excellent as they are.
MHedges
I would love to see him go get first team experience and have a recall option just in case. Win-win.
PloKoon13
Win-win. What if he stops us from scoring next year? D: Or commits a blunder which allows Man Utd to score?
MHedges
What if he stops us from scoring next year? D:Or commits a blunder which allows Man Utd to score? A loaned player cannot sore against his own team. And if he allows Man Utd to score, then I'm sure his replacement would have let them score two! icecoolguy22
Not a bad idea to loan him out if we have 4 central defenders ahead of him. To everton? I don't think so. We need him to play week in and week out, maybe a team like Blackburn or Stoke is more likely. Although Everton still well below us, we don't want give them that extra edge to be only trailing us by 10 points with 5 rounds to go next year.
