Chelsea fans home attacked

If this is true then it is despicable behaviour. No room for this in any society. I hope the family stay safe and stay supporting Chelsea.

A west Belfast mother has said her family is lucky to be alive, after vandals set fire to football flags and bunting at their home.

The house, off the Shankill Road, was decorated in Chelsea colours in preparation for the FA Cup Final.

Valerie McMurtry said what should have been a happy occasion almost turned to tragedy.

"If I hadn't have wakened and wakened my husband, I think what they intended to do was burn our home out," she said.

"Because who in their right mind would put flammable material through someone's letterbox knowing that there was children in the house.

"People from the Shankill Road know that we support Chelsea and that I have kids in this house so anyone who done this knew what they were going to do and what they were capable of doing."

Moved topic into General Chelsea mate as it will get seen more here than the lounge.

That is bad news and totally sick. I hope the old bill get hold of them and string them up! Very lucky as it easily could of been much worse for the people in the house!

I dont want to wildly speculate but is this something to do with the Chelsea/Rangers connection? I know Shankill is a heavily sectarian area

not that that excuses anything at all. Disgusting and unreal act by some animal who should be locked up

The attack took place in Upper Charleville St,which is between Shankill and Crumlin Rds.Considering the area is staunchly Loyalist I doubt this was carried out by anyone other than Protestant/Loyalist plonkers.Maybe they were Liverpools fans.
