Blatter speaks again

So he is willing to remove a technology that will make the game fairer and by doing so leave a place for human error for fear of CONTROVERSIES ?! Like the ones where a team will complain against the right decision ?

Because FIFA are all about avoiding controversies, sure.

what annoyed me the most about this was the reation of the egypt players. the one who handballed it ( and he blatantly handballed it, therefore it was definately a pen) tried to claim it hit him in the face and pretended he was injured. one of his team mates even aclled for a bloody stretcher. so for them to take the moral high ground is laughable.

I completly agree. I am originally from Kuwait, a small arab country and it is really a shame to see play acting like this. It is done alot thoughout the region (some of you might remeber some "memorable" moments from a Saudi Arabian goalie in the last Asian Cup) and also, recently in the Iraq - Spain game. It really makes me ashamed of the way most arab nations play, even though we have beautiful moments and passion for football...

It's not just Arab nations by any means - does anyone remember Rivaldo in the World Cup? I can even remember Liverpool's Emlyn Hughes feigning injury and pretending to be hurt by Big Bill Garner back in the 70's - the irony is, if Big Bill had really whacked Hughes, he wouldn't have known what hit him.

I saw the thread title "Blatter speaks again" and I thought to myself "not if I get my hands on him he won't". Message to any press boys reading this - I was jesting. I'm sure Sepp is a very nice man at heart :P

Its like these people are living in a bubble, yet they are running the most lucerative sport on earth

Hopefully Madrid get screwed on a high profile decision sometime soon, and Blatter decides to change couse and introduce mandatory video review all over Europe to ensure fairness and avoid controversy...for real this time
