February 19, 201214 yr The Secret World of Borrower Arrietty Great studio Ghibli film. Doubt half of you know what Studio Ghibli is... I don't know about Ghibil. I have watched a few Miyazaki films and have enjoyed most of them, some a great deal. The one that left me a bit cold was Ponyo.
February 19, 201214 yr Mmm, Ponyo was a tad poor. Though when it comes to Ghibli films it seems to be more about the art and the character development more than story. I'm re-downloading this beast of a Torrent at the mo which has 18 Ghibli films: Edited February 19, 201214 yr by Mod Deleted warez link, please see the rules.
February 19, 201214 yr Finally got to see Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll, the Ian Dury biopic, I'm not a big fan of Andy Serkis but he really nailed it this time, a great performance. For those who were around at the time it'll take you back to some good times and great music.
February 19, 201214 yr Doubt half of you know what Studio Ghibli is... Wait, is Studio Ghibli supposed to be some hidden gem, instead of being one of the most famous animation studios in the world?
February 19, 201214 yr Wait, is Studio Ghibli supposed to be some hidden gem, instead of being one of the most famous animation studios in the world? Hahaha not at all. It's more I don't think a bunch of 30+ year old men would know about it. They certainly don't aim for your demographic

Or is it his masculinity that would prevent him appreciating it? So.. is it for really old women like moi, then? Edited February 19, 201214 yr by moi
February 19, 201214 yr Are you saying Maks is too young? Or is it his masculinity that would prevent him appreciating it? So.. is it for really old women like moi, then? I think he's referring to the usual "animations are for kids" attitude, which isn't true for some of Studio Ghibli's movies. Just watch "Grave of the Fireflies" and tell me it's a kids' movie. Just watch "Grave of the Fireflies" and tell me it's a kids' movie. Thank you, Maks. I knew that! I was just amused by his reference to "a bunch of 30 + year old men" as if that was absolutely ancient!
February 19, 201214 yr The Secret World of Borrower Arrietty Great studio Ghibli film. Doubt half of you know what Studio Ghibli is... Girly anime isn`t it?.......
February 19, 201214 yr Girly anime isn`t it?....... Not girly but can't call it masculine. I think he's referring to the usual "animations are for kids" attitude, which isn't true for some of Studio Ghibli's movies. Just watch "Grave of the Fireflies" and tell me it's a kids' movie. I was, but you can't blame me. We're on a football site and I imagine you all to be "big old burly beer bellied men" who are constantly grumpy. (excluding Moi because I can't decided if your profile is a troll or not, after all you can't be 101) Also "Grave of the Fireflies" is a class movie and I guess it would be more suited to you older folk. AND just to clear everything up I said half of you wouldn't know I can give the other half the benefit of the doubt. Edited February 19, 201214 yr by Connoor
February 19, 201214 yr My profile is certainly not a troll. I'd forgotten it's a long time since I modified my age. Thank you for bringing that to my attention - think I'll go back to being 21! P.S. I'm not a man.
February 19, 201214 yr was pulling your pud mate. I was a massive fan of Manga back in the day, so it was a reference to what I liked as proper anime for blokey blokes.
February 19, 201214 yr was pulling your pud mate. I was a massive fan of Manga back in the day, so it was a reference to what I liked as proper anime for blokey blokes. Oh.. well in that case what manga would you have read? My profile is certainly not a troll. I'd forgotten it's a long time since I modified my age. Thank you for bringing that to my attention - think I'll go back to being 21! P.S. I'm not a man. I was fairly confused, not going to lie.
February 19, 201214 yr Oh.. well in that case what manga would you have read? I used to read stuff like Lone Wolf and cub, Cyborg 009, Petshop of Horrors and of course Astro boy. Then went onto vids like Akira (obviously) Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Fist of the North star etc. But I have watched Grave of the fireflies and it was brilliant if a little unnerving.
February 19, 201214 yr I was fairly confused, not going to lie. You're young and male - easy to confuse! I'm so old I've forgotten how to change the profile details!
February 19, 201214 yr Hahaha not at all. It's more I don't think a bunch of 30+ year old men would know about it. They certainly don't aim for your demographic 30+? Oh, to be young again!
February 19, 201214 yr 30+? Oh, to be young again! I know! It's one of the funniest unintentionally funny things I've read on here for a long time!
February 19, 201214 yr I know! It's one of the funniest unintentionally funny things I've read on here for a long time! Yes! It's funny what seems old when you're young.
February 19, 201214 yr It's more I don't think a bunch of 30+ year old men would know about it. They certainly don't aim for your demographic I'll use Grave of the Fireflies as an example again, even if it's not a kids' movie, but I was around ten years old when it was released. I was around 13 when Porco Rosso was released and around 18 when Princess Mononoke was released. Many people consider those classic Ghibli movies, so people who are around 30 years old now weren't that far off from the aimed demographic back then.
February 19, 201214 yr I've only seen Princess Mononoke, as we had to watch it for a class at school. I thought it was pretty good. Any other recommendations in the same genre? I already added Grave of the Fireflies to my Netflix queue.

I already added Grave of the Fireflies to my Netflix queue. Out of the ones I've seen, I'd recommend Porco Rosso. The concept may sound like a weird one, but I'd say it's well worth watching.
February 19, 201214 yr Just seen Final Destination 5 on dvd. You can't beat a good 'ol gruesome death can you?,just as long as you keep your sense of humor . Mindless pap really, but it beats Eastenders anyday. Mind you,I'm now a touch worried about that 'dream' I had yesterday regarding the p.v.c suit, the inflatable gherkin, the jar of mayonase & busty Juile from 3 doors down.
