Daniels and Weinberger, who wrote a lot of episodes, went on to create the wonderful "Taxi". And the Charles brothers, who wrote for "Taxi", went on to co-create "Cheers". Some outstanding sitcom-writing pedigrees. Days long gone, sadly.

September 7, 2025Sep 7 This was one of the first singles I ever bought. Reached No9 in the UK charts. Didn't get released on an album, as it was meant to go on Townshend's Lifehouse album, which never got released. That was the same fate as this single, which they recorded 4 days later in May 1972. It got to number 21 in the Uk.The Who were a great singles band, although they are best known for their epic albums Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia and Live at Leeds. The Ox played french horn on Pictures of Lily and the Tommy overture. The only one of them with classical music training. Great great band though losing Keith cost them dearly . As I've posted before, saw them live in 1968. Unforgettable.

When you speak to him you have to stand to one side and raise your voice.

The loudest band I've ever heard were (I kid you not) a country and western band at a friend's duaghter's wedding. My ears hurt so much I had to go outside.
