Darts were great for a while. I was 14 coming up 15 in '78 and a lot of us loved their "poppy" and retro sound and Den Hegarty seemed a bit of a nutter.

But it's at that age you really discover music and what you're into and in late 1978, All Mod Cons came out and once I heard that I scoffed at anyone who still liked Darts!

Cripes, this takes me back. Spicks and Specks was about 3 years away.

I missed them the first time around though have been watching a few re-runs of the Kenny Everett show and they were often guests along other artists and like you say Dan Hegerty was quite amusing.

Everett's show has a warning about unsuitable material, racist, sexist etc. Was unsure about the racist warning then saw this certain character with a bone through his nose speaking 'mumbo jumbo' and realised this was early Everett before I watched it with only recognising Sid Snott,
