yes he has been a great player

and yes he can score some goals and occasionally the killer pass...............but his all-round game now is lacklustre at best as;

1. he only has a short game, and thats patchy - never does a diagonal or long ball

2. always fouls in the middle-third so puts pressure on the defence nedlessly

4. never jumps, so doesn't win headers

4. is one-paced and thats slow medium (using cricket term)

yes he runs at that one -pace a long way but he is not adding anything to the team dynamic

opposing players see him infront of em and take him on

but yes he's a big character in the changing room and part of the clique and thats why he gets the pick over others

sooner we are rid the better

I agree with most of this if you are talking about Ballack. If it is Essien everything you just described is complete opposite of him.

Ballack is well past his best but in the latter stages of CL and PL he can offer something you only gain by playing as much as he has. Experience. He's been very good at spring every season. In games against Scum and Manu I prefer him over Mikel every time. Old men spring to life!

But yes I agree he should go back to Germany after this season and finish off his great career there.
