in the current climate of financial turmoil, excess, and uncertainty, sometimes it feels like being a chelsea fan is all about worrying if we'll perhaps lose this game or that, or perhaps slip off our recently hard-won place on the premier league podium - one which is surely at the highest level of world football. week in, week out we worry if our financial clout will last, is sustainable, will actually bring us results, or is destined to wane, depending on the transfers we make, the progress we make in the league, champions league, or transfer market. but sometimes i think we don't spend enough time being wholeheartedly thankful that we win so much!

I for one feel a bit uneasy about the manner in which we ascended to greatness, but now we're here, can we take a moment to appreciate just how bloody lucky we are?

whatever the outcome of this season, thank god we are the team we are today.

champions league, top 3 for sure, above the dippers, in the fa cup semis, awesome youth team, world class manager, squad full of players the rest of europe would snap up in an instant.

;)

I know, it truly is awesome.

We have to savour it, it may not last forever. It has given me some of the best weekends and nights of my life.

The highs and lows come hand in hand. We are so very lucky to be where we are now.... and long may it continue..

Yes well said sleepyG. I still have to pinch myself sometimes. When I think back to the dark days of the 70's when the East Stand nearly bankrupted the club and away days consisted of visits to Shrewsbury and York, if someone had told me that we would win football's greatest prize twice and be constantly involved in title races, I would have said that they were mad.

:P ::clap2:: Good shout and great link sleepy, these are the golden years, to date, in the club's history, having started arguably in 93/4. It's been a fantastic 16 year stretch so far. Personally if we win any of the 3 cups that we're still in, done the double over the goons and I've been to the San Siro, never gonna look back on that as one of the bad years.

Yes we are very, very lucky. Having grown up supporting us through the second division days i can fully appreciate how good these times are. Just being in contention for the 3 biggest prizes in the game in the middle of march is fantastic.

Leeds Utd anyone???

for lots of us winning the leauge only happened in our dreams, but thankfully our dreams became true. sometimes i feel its harder to e a fan now because when i was younger it was fair play for supporting chelsea, but now its how long have you followed chelsea? but hey f**k em all i guess.

Fantastic post and exaclty my sentiments.

Even if we dont win a thing this season, it wasnt long ago when a season like this would of been considered a fantastic result.

Now lets all go and have massive amounts of kids to ensure Chelsea has a large fan base/revenue pool to continue this trend in the future! :)
