first of all.......................even the small clubs have a history and some things for the fans to be proud of

second, if you opened the record books in 1900, 1930, 1950 etc you would get a different slant on who the top teams are

third, you need to include the fans and frankly LFC have nothing to be proud of have they - and we have one of 2 moments not to proud of too, but LFC take the dishonours on that one

then if you get up to date to 1993 when the PL starts, we have plenty to be proud of since then and compare to everyone except mancu

7 fa cup finals and 5 wins, 3 PL titles, etc.................much better than LFC

last point - take a look at the PL records............we have 60% of the positive records, LFC have none at all!

so yes we have a better than decent history, and the double puts us up there

now for the champions league

Before the season I was talking trash with an Pool fan and he was all like "How many times have you won the league" and I replied "3"

SO he goes "BS, you've only won it twice" and I go "No, we also won it in 54/55"

So he goes "Well that doesnt count"......... so after shaking my head for a good few minutes I simply replied "well if wins before the EPL formed dont count,, I guess we got 2 more than Liverpool!"

hahahahha, no reply!

Ive always told the "No history" claimers "I'd rather be making it then remembering it"

but someone on here had a better retort when LFCers say it, just reply "Well you dont have a future!" hahaha

Ive heard of people thinking football started in 1993, but usually theyre Man Utd fans.

Not the Scouser fans but 1 Gooner fan used to bug me a lot saying we play parking the bus football.

But the day we amassed all those 103 goals since then when I meet him I couldnt stop laughing and he just feels hell of embarrassed when I mention their superb form towards the end of League :).

I think not having a history, and not having a history of winning league titles are totally different things. CFCNet ran a rather good article on the subject a couple of years ago. To be honest, as a chelsea fan I've suffered a lot of lows, the first year I started going to games we got relegated. That's history in itself, it's not all about the good.

Edit: Just a link to the article Fcuk our History. It's a little out of date now, but raises some valid points.

Great article!

"As for glory hunters, well, I ask you, was I bathed in glory when standing in the Shed in the 80’s watching us get relegated? I think not."

To be fair, it was physically impossible for me to be "standing in the Shed in the 80's" - the first game I ever remembering watching was the 1997 Cup Winners Cup Final (v Stuttgart, Zola came off the bench to score a screamer!). I was 5 at the time, about 6 years before Roman. Am I a glory hunter?

Liverscum have not won the EPL trophy, in fact they have not won the league since two decades ago. I had to point this out to some Liverpool supporting idiot(that lives in London) the other day, The same idiot claimed that Arsenal would win the league next season because they have 'formed well as a team'. At that point I said to him 'You obviously dont watch much football these days', to which he said 'what do you mean. I have a season ticke to Anfield'. He owns a shop in London and when I pointed out to him, that I see him in there 6 days a week so how could he ever get up to Liverscum, he went very quiet. Why do people have to talk crap.
