plenty of current squad were here for jose's first season..................but not sure who would be left from current squad

yes many variables, but I can only think of foreign players who might be here - alex, petr, zhirkov, kalou..................maybe sturridge (needs to score some goals), so that suggests we need a long-term strategy to bring in some more english players, especially if the eufa rules get further tightened

sure the club have a plan and hopefully we'll see the start of it this season

Well, I read the title of the thread and thought "what the hell is it about"

Then I read the post and I still have no clue.

I think this is what it means:

Of the current squad there are plenty who were at Chelsea for Jose's first season.

But...of the current squad, who will still be here in five years time?

ws6blue can only think of a few foreign players who might still be here, plus possiby Sturridge, provided he starts scoring some goals.

ws6blue feels the club should have a long-term strategy to introduce more English players, particularly in the light of the possibility that UEFA rules on the percentage of foreign players allowed in a team might be tightened.

He hopes that this season will see that long-term plan start to be put into action.

Have I interpreted you correctly,ws6blue?

Wow, nicely interpreted moi. Don't know if it's right but I'm impressed. I will answer according to your interpretation.

I think the long-term plan is already put in action. We have great youngsters coming through. Hoping Kakuta, McEachran and Borini will be our backbone at that time.

Seems like 5 years is too long to start thinking about what players are here. We are still Chelsea so who knows what happens next month. I'm more interested in that.

Me Too.

Suffice to say though ES, in 5 years time, you would still have Lamps in the starting line up!!
