Hutch Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Carlo Ancelotti has won the Barclays Manager of the Month award for August after his side made a flying start in defence of the league title, scoring 14 goals without reply as they took maximum points from the three matches. Ancelotti was the only manager to see his team win all three of their games in August and this is the second time he has won the award. In November last season, the Blues also recorded three wins and three clean sheets and were top of the Barclays Premier League. 'I enjoy getting started on the Premier League and I am happy to win the Manager of the Month,' Ancelotti said. 'It is a good moment recently and I have to say thanks to my players. We have fantastic strikers and we support them with good play from the back and we have confidence in our play.' The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel that includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans. LINK

dkw Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 fully deserved, works extremely hard everyday, good to see him getting recognition, how he wasnt manager of the year last season was a joke,f**k hodgson Come on now, Woy got his team to a final (even though he basically gave up on league position around january) and did get his team to an incredible 12th (though they only won 1 away game all season) playing incredible attacking football (14th on goals scored all season with a massive 39). Much better than a manager who is new to the country and league, takes his team to their first double, has a team that scores a record 103 league goals, and is actually massively likeable. Ho hum.
Sheva Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) I just watched his first interview and his recent one for us as our manager. It's amazing how fast he's learned English during his time with us and it's come on leaps and bounds and when you compare him too someone like Capello who hasen't learnt hardly anything. evissy Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Congrats Carlo! I've been wondering why Chelsea players don't win these awards that often. Last season there were times when either Drogs or Lampard would have deserved that. Lampard won't get any prize anymore, doesn't matter what he does. His level of standard is so high it is hard for him to top it.
Hutch Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 and further congratulations to Carlo Ancelotti for proving that the almost traditional curse of the Manager Of The Month Award doesn't apply to Ordinary Geniuses!
Bobbywoodhogan Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 fully deserved, works extremely hard everyday, good to see him getting recognition, how he wasnt manager of the year last season was a joke,f**k hodgson Agreed, every year the manager that wins the league gets manager of the season except for last year, what a joke that was.
