A Happy Place

With so much negativity with recent performances and the club on this board. Lets look at the positives of the club at the moment, things aren't that bad.

We have a young coach, and although the league he managed in last season is not the biggest in the world, he absolutely dominated it like never before. He needs to learn, and with some more experience I am sure he will learn with each game.

We have a chance of finishing 3rd or 4th, the last few years we have put a good run together in and after Feb. 3rd is still possible.

We have a good squad, with good young players, yes players are needed in the summer, but if Torres hits form, at the same time Mata and Sturridge are playing well we will be a force in the Champions League.

I disagree, we finished 2nd last year thanks to a great run of form combined with a City/Arsenal post-Christmas capitulation.

We have failed to win more often than we have, that isn't top 4 form.

3rd for me is out of reach, 4th isn't out of reach yet but will be soon.

Liverpool, City and Arsenal all to play away and to be honest I'm dreading Spuds at home as well (first time I've said that as a Chelsea fan)

I think you are overrating our squad, best we can hope for IMO is a 5th placed finish, a good crack at the CL and the FA Cup.

So, you call the thread "A Happy Place", you start your initial post with "Let's look at the positives" and straight away, we get the negative crap posted again. I give up.

good post,

everyone has their fears and we've heard them over and over, its great to see someone try to identify and concentrate on the positives.

A horse wearing a Chelsea scarf walks into a bar.........

The barman ask's, why the long face?.......

Besides, anyone who looks like Rimmer from Red Dwarf can't be to bad can they?.

Marvellous.

'if Torres hits form' - wow, this must be a positive topic indeed.

We have made some excellent, young acquisitions (Mata, Ramires, Luiz) around whom we can build a team. Courtois, Lukaku, Bertrand, De Bruyne and Sturridge look pretty good too. Not to mention the prospects of Kakuta, McEachran, Piazon, Davila, PVA, etc...

Some of the old guard are slipping but John Terry and Petr Cech are still excellent. We have a lot of deadwood but we are also one of the richest clubs around and now that Carlo Ancelotti, the master of wringing the last drops of quality out of an ageing player, has entered the market with a lot of cash at PSG we have an outlet for some of our older players. We have a talented young manager with a history of success to oversee all this.

We're into the next round of the Champions League, which is more than can be said for anyone in the top three. Our FA Cup prospects are also as good as anyone's at this stage. Our rivals for fourth are as follows: a bunch of bottlejob pissants with no record of success, a team managed by Alan Pardew, and a team whose best player is Craig Bellamy, whose manager is a cantankerous, delusional old hack, and whose fans are so bored of watching their plodding team play 5-3-2 that to distract themselves they had to start a huge, public argument over racism which they then lost miserably.

I think this would be an appropriate conclusion:

I agree! Regardless if we do make 4th or not the thread was calling for a gleam of hope, some positivity... Instead we get the same nonsense about how we are rubbish and are doomed...
