Getting tickets

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I'm a Rangers fan up in Scotland and Chelsea have always been my '2nd team'. I've never been to the Bridge though and would like to go to a game.

What is the best way for me to go about this? What will the cost likely be? My plan is to stay a couple of nights in a hotel as well.

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers.

Its a good question. I need to organise myself some tickests for when visiting from Australia. However looks like no games on on the 13 14 October and the following Saturday on the current schedule its the early start away to Spurs. Not sure how to get tickets for an away game.

Unfortunately you'll struggle to get tickets for Spurs away (even some of us Season ticket holders may do) - the best way to do it without becoming a member is to aim for a game that won't be particularly in demand (or sign up and become a member for 25-40quid p.a) - maybe against one of the newly promoted sides.

Would I be able to get tickets for the Newcastle game? Also, can you get packages that includes hotel and flights? I would rather not take an 8 hour train journey!

Should I become a member? What are the costs?

Thomas Cook do hotel/ticket packages but you'll have to organise your own travel. You don't need a membership for this but if you wish to purchase tickets without thomas cook you're better off buying membership. Worth it if you're planning a few trips to the Bridge.

Membership is £25 a year. You get priority tickets and £5 off what it would normally cost on general sale, well worth it in my opinion.

I tried to buy tickets a few times last year without being a member and it was hopeless. Bought the 25 quid membership for next season, I think it's quite reasonable considering the discount you get on ticket purchases.

I'm planning on going with someone else, do they need to become a member too?

bump. Do they need to become a member or will I be entitled to purchase two tickets with my membership?

For all category A games eg Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, semi finals, finals etc, tickets are sold on loyalty points which are accumulated over the amount of games you attend. For all other games, tickets are fairly easy to get on a membership. For tickets against smaller clubs, tickets usually go on sale to members with an option to purchase an extra 2 tickets a week or so from when they firstly went on sale, so you're better off waiting to get two tickets side by side. Alternatively if you know someone else with a membership, you can add them as a friend on your own membership and purchase two tickets on their behalf.

Do you think there will more empty seats this year than normal?

Strange that there are still tickets available for the first few games.

I noticed that.

Strange as the few season tickets available this year were snapped up straight away to members with a very high amount of loyalty points yet tickets are on general sale (and have been for days) for the first couple of games of the season.

I would have thought people would want to a) see those shiny trophies with their own eyes (especially a certain large one with big ears) and b) see the new exciting signings for the first time.
