How to make a millionare sweat?.

Featured Replies

If as Lucas Piazon says, the players didn't care enough about the shirt, then what could be done to change the situation?.

How do you make a millionare player (or manager) give a damm?.

Honestly,if you were to be paid for the next 4 & a half years salary, upfront, would you bust a gut on a cold, winter monday?.

If the answer is no,(& I think it might be) then maybe not being guaranteed the next 4 & a half years salary is the answer?.

Most folks nowdays work under a 'bonus' culture, where if you don't produce a minium acceptable amount, then you're in the sh*t.

Not todays footballers & club officials it seams.

Maybe clubs could buy a players registration, for say,a 4 year period, then pay a years wage depending on performance.

After that year, player & club are free to negotiate. They may choose another year or maybe 'sell' the players registration.Or the player may choose to leave.

For the long term good of the game,it simply cannot stay the way it is now.

Any ideas?.

If they dont perform send them to The Emirates for at least 2 seasons thereby depriving them of any trophies/medals and learning what a good thing they had going before............they can then return with the hunger re-ignited.......

It is completely mad that these people are given a guaranteed wage for 3, 4, 5 years and even if they are completely sh*t at their job they just get another long term contract somewhere else and lump sum to boot. Talk about a gravy train.

It would be great if the bulk of earnings was somehow linked to performance but, no doubt, it will never ever happen whilst everyone on the football gravy train is all too well aware that us, the punters, will continue to shove millions upon millions in their direction through tickets, TV subscriptions and merchandise, not matter how they perform and no matter how disgruntled we are.

So my idea is that we cancel our Sky Sports subscriptions, don't renew our memberships and season tickets and stop buying replica kits etc. My other idea is that pigs start flying.

All players should be paid by the point....I dunno....These days...30,000 a point......Trust me there will be no such things as lazy players, or playing for a draw...

Very good topic, no idea what the best answer would be though. I think something does have to happen - if I was that apathetic at doing my job I'd certainly get called up on it.

The irrational part of me says don't pay them unless they try. How do you judge if they've tried or not? You can't... I admit its flawed but the idea is there........

If there was a way to determine who tried and who didn't, then that would be my solution. Unfortunately, who should be the judge? The manager or, God forbid, the fickle fans?

Quite like the idea of getting paid by the point. Would really make players fight for that single point on a bad day or grabbing that late winner if needed. But I guess there's flaws with that solution as well. What if the ref is responsible for dropped points? Tricky.

Or else, if we don't win the trophy, you don't get paid.

Maybe they should try that at Arsenal or Liverpool. Imagine how much money they would save

I would be the judge Moos, me. For I am perfect and my opinion should be considered fact.

I can start ASAP. Someone may want to collect food stamps for Mikel as he won't be earning enough money to eat ;-)

I'll be the judge of poor mistreated Mikel. You can do the rest.

Dear me, a woman in charge of determining if a man works hard enough. Chelsea will have no problems with the FFP now

Exactly Moosie. I can be bribed though... Frank will have no problems with his wage as long as he complies with my instructions........

Aaaanyway, sorry to detract from a good topic, I'll stop now.

Win - Full

Draw - Half

Lose - None

Okay, that was stupid.

The Premier League could do a rating system for every match played (eg Torres 5) and pay them the percentage that is their match rating so say Torres got a 5, he would recieve 50% of his wage (which would be 87.5k down from 175k) Obviously ratings would have to be based on a lot of key elements and stats within that match and would probably be a very difficult procedure. Best I can think of really.
