Interesting article on Demba Ba

Featured Replies

Interesting read, I wouldn't say he is a sh*tty person at all just yet, he, like every footballer these days has an agent who he pays to get the best deal for himself, and also more recently themselves too.

He seems like a very religious muslim, and according to wikipedia takes part in ramadan etc.

He seems like a very religious...

Being religious doesn't mean someone is automatically a good person. And this goes for all religions, which is why I left the word muslim from the quote.

In the few interviews Ive seen of him he actually comes across as quite intelligent and articulate.

Also going to another country with no plan and no money and effectively becoming homeless in order to try and and get a trial, you've got to admire him for that. I dont think I could do that no matter how much ability I had!

The part about his early days this country is interesting but that's not a very balanced article. It's almost as if the BBC have published a press-release from Ba's agents as an article.

You sort of left us hanging there, you haven't filled in or at least referenced the unbalanced part of the article? not a call out but I'd like to know myself

also don't think his agents need to peddle him with a press release, from Hoff, to West ham, to Newcastle he's done his self promo on the pitch

I apologise for leaving you hanging, I'm at work so it's preferable to keep things brief.

It's the things that were left out of the article that makes it unbalanced, i.e. anything not entirely complimentary towards towards Ba. As an example, his antics at Hoffenheim which were described in some detail in the main Ba thread.

Also, the comment about the press release is just me having a swipe at unspecified lazy journalists, nothing against the player.

Always nice to see a player that's truly had to fight to get to where he is now, if he shows that same attitude on the pitch, it will be a far cry from our sulky Spaniard.

If Torres is still first choice, I will be disgusted. Only at Chelsea could we bench warm one of the highest PL scorers this season, for a useless, sulky bar steward that is Torres.
