Much rather we got Mourinho, and they kept Ferguson. As much as I'd like to see United rot down the table into nothing other than a mediocre club, you can't beat a good title rival matchup. Mourinho versus Fergie, Utd V Chelsea.

Jose's heart is undoubtedly at Chelsea but... if he were given the challenge of succeeding Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, arguably the biggest boots to fill in ALL of football, he'd take it - he's like that.

 

Very tense times ahead, I can't see the Glazers picking any random manager for this... he'll need to be a grizzled veteran.
