Anyone know what is happening with Hutchinson?

 

I haven't seen any mention of him this pre-season so just wondered if he is still involved at Chelsea.

 

I know his season long loan at Nottingham Forest was blighted by injury so I wasn't sure if the club were going to keep him on any longer. 

 

Isnt he coaching one of the youth teams now?

I think that was after he retired, the club kept him on and gave him a role in the youth set up.

 

He felt he had recovered from the chronic knee injury that forced his early retirement and after a few outings in the reserves the club was convinced about his fitness to reward him with a new professional contract.

 

I think his injuries at Forest were mainly muscle injuries such as hamstring injuries rather than his troublesome knees but obviously making only 9 appearances all season doesn't look good for his overall fitness. 

Im sure on Chelsea tv when they were talking about Flo taking up a coaching role with the club they talked about Hutch in a coaching role also.

Really really hope the rest of his career is filled with good luck. Top man and bags of talent.

Gutting that injuries robbed him of his chance to play for us, especially considering England's current dearth of decent right backs.

 

That said, it is brilliant to see that he's carved out a niche in football anyway (apparently as a card-prone midfielder) and I hope he goes on to have an excellent career. I can't imagine there are many players who have the mental strength to come back from what he has been through, all credit to him and best of luck. I hope he comes back to the Bridge one day.
