Above picture I think was played in front of a crowd of 132,000 at the 1969 Scottish Cup Final

The game in that first picture had an attendance of 75,000 at Parkhead

 

The Old Firm played 5 times that 1969/70 season,.

 

League games had attendances of 84,000 at Ibrox and 75,000 at Parkhead

 

The League Cup sectional ties had 71,645 and 70,000 at Ibrox and Parkhead respectively

The great Tom Forsyth or Jaws as he was nick-named. Didn't score many goals for Rangers but the one he scored in the 1973 Scottish Cup Final is legendary.

It's funny how a single picture sticks in your mind, that one was in one of the football albums I used to get every Christmas, Charles Buchan's Soccer Annual or something like that.  I still have them in the loft.

Peckham: Compare the photo of that pitch to the bowling greens that todays pitches are !

 

Agree re photos in the Annuals you used to get for Christmas. I used to love Shoot, Topical Times, Playing for Rangers and The International Football Books every Christmas morning. My old man would grab the International Football Book and I'd not get to read it for ages...
