August 28, 201510 yr Too much dross in an inflated market. Basically there is no value anymore. City are spending 58mil on De Bruyne alone. I feel like next summer will be a good summer to invest heavily on young players that might breakthrough this year. next window i can already sense a bidding war coming on for pogba. also, i think this trend of inflation is simply going to increase. 30 is the old 20. and with all due respect to teams like stoke, west ham, swansea, if these teams are buying the shaqiris and ayews of the world for 10-15million, put the name of chelsea/united/city on the buyer side and the sellers automatically double their prices. i can see us buying more players from the spanish and italian leagues as they have buyout clauses and most of the teams cant do a john stones on us in that case.
August 28, 201510 yr I wonder if clubs are holding on to players because they know next season when the new prem league deal kicks in values will rocket once again. Doubt it. even before the window started, how many actually world class or even pedro-level (a level below world class in my opinion) were available? vidal - yes. And? but i do agree that with the new deal, inflation is going to be even more of a problem in coming years.
August 28, 201510 yr If..if the rumours going around in regards to the amount of obscene money for both Pogba and Stones and we don't get either then that tells us Roman has a whole wad of cash he is willing to spend, so perhaps there maybe a blockbuster deal on deadline day.... nothing should surprise our fans these days.
August 29, 201510 yr We need something by Tuesday 6pm. Short time frame so whether we can manage it is tough. Clearly need some fresh players brought in. Another CM and a CB.
August 29, 201510 yr Look how quickly we got the Pedro deal done. I can see at least one new signing before Tuesday. Believe! Edited August 29, 201510 yr by AndyBlue82
