Posted March 20, 200718 yr Rearranged for Wed 9th May - 3 days before the final game. I bet Richard Keys is knocking one out as we speak!!! They could effectively win it at our place regardless of the result. If we win and bring it down to 3 points, they will have to lose their last game and we'll have to win something like 18-0
March 20, 200718 yr It is 2 days before my birthday so a Chelsea win would be a great present that they could give.
March 20, 200718 yr Realistically it could be all over by then and would then be pretty anti-climactic. If we are facing United in 1 or even 2 cup finals around that time and the league is already decided you could well see both sides put the reserves out. Even though I hope we are still in with a shout at that point it would be funny to see how pissed off the TV stations would be
March 20, 200718 yr If we did loose the title where would you rather see us lose it: Away to Arsenal or home to Manchester United?
March 20, 200718 yr Tough one. Since United would already be able to gloat it would probably be best to have them beat us than Arsenal. We would hopefully then at least have the possibility for the last laugh if we made it to one of the Cup finals and faced them

That woud be so funny.
March 20, 200718 yr That would be my third choice scenario!! 1st - we win both 2nd - we win the league and they win the FA Cup 3rd - what you said
March 20, 200718 yr That would be my third choice scenario!!1st - we win both 2nd - we win the league and they win the FA Cup 3rd - what you said I agree with these priorities of course but the original question assumed that we would lose the league.
March 20, 200718 yr If we have to lose the league it is better we lose it at home to Man U rather than away to Arse. Don't want to give the Arse anything to cheer about. Secondly, Man U lost the league to us last year at SB. So i reckon they will have a special motivation to win it at the Bridge. Plus Fergie had the players lined up to applaud us on the pitch at Old Trafford after we had won it at Bolton in 2005. Even more motivation for Man U. It won't be nice if it happens this way - but, who knows, we may have another game or two with Man U before the end of the season. And we will have the motivation this time. But first we will have to deal with Blackburn and Valencia.
March 21, 200718 yr In the meantime ladies & gentlemen. WE have the Euros to contend with. Who know`s.??? As long it`s not a BLUE.
March 21, 200718 yr If we did loose the title where would you rather see us lose it: Away to Arsenal or home to Manchester United? Losing to Arsenal means feeding all that bast**ds, talking about Arsenal`s superior young boys. It`s unlikely I think. And losing to MU is a disaster. All press in the world would have topics like "ManU are genuine champions" and this kind of a sh*te (like Abramovich`s(CSR user) line-up against Tottenham )

Even though I hope we are still in with a shout at that point it would be funny to see how pissed off the TV stations would be Been talking about this a lot last few days. Don't want to count chickens etc, as still a long way to go, but we could play them in the league, the FA Cup final and CL Final, all in a course of a few weeks. I'll be really suprised if they haven't wrapped the league up by May, so the league game could be a non event (although wouldn't wan't to lose that undefeated home record). I'd be happy with a draw and them winning the league if we went on to win both finals.
March 21, 200718 yr I assume we are talking about them mathematically winning the league too. I think we would all agree that if Chelsea lose or draw another game while United win the league would be over. With that in mind I think the worst case scenario would be to lose at home to Spuds in a couple of weeks.

March 22, 200718 yr That would be my third choice scenario!!1st - we win both 2nd - we win the league and they win the FA Cup 3rd - what you said Of course 1st we win champions league, premier and cup
March 22, 200718 yr How good wouldn't it be if ManU wins the league (unless we do it of course ) and then we beat ManU in the FA cup final and in the Champions League Just to show them who's really the best team around
March 22, 200718 yr That would be my third choice scenario!!1st - we win both 2nd - we win the league and they win the FA Cup 3rd - what you said Of course 1st we win champions league, premier and cup Not for me 1st is always the domestic title 2nd Champioons league 3rd FA Cup 4th League Cup The Premiership is the ultimate prize and is the true indicator of who the best team has been that particular season. The CL is a great thing to win but is not always won by the best side and is certainly not always a true indicator of who the best team in Europe is.
March 22, 200718 yr I'd agree with that Loz - I should think most would. When I was a kid and even into my 20's, all I wanted us to win was the FA Cup. The whole FA Cup final experience - all the build up on TV, both ITV & BBC doing coverage and camaras on the team coaches etc. Now the FA cup has slipped well down the pecking order However, this year is a big one, being back at Wembley and the chances are being Us & Man Utd. I also think the league is just about beyond us now, whereas the Cup and even the CL are certainly there to be won.
