A panoramic view of the Crystal Palace ground during the 1905 FA Cup Final.
This is
the only such photograph of the stadium known to exist.
101,117 spectators officially watched the 1905 FA Cup Final.

Footballers in action on a muddy pitch somewhere in London.
This was a match between London Caledonians (striped kit) and the Civil Service  in 1900. Primarily for Scottish players. London Caledonians (also known as the Calies or Caleys) was an amateur club that played their home games at Caledonian Park in Holloway.

Boyne: Great picture. Think it’s early to mid 1970s.

You can see Cathkin Park at the top of the hill in the top right hand corner of the picture.

This was the former home of Third Lanark, until ‘Thirds’ went out of business in 1967. It was also the Second Hampden Park until 1903.

Scotland v England at Hampden Park in 1962. Scotland won 2-0 with goals from Davie Wilson and Eric Caldow.

Great photo!

Eric Caldow and Johnny Hayes are the respective captains leading out their sides.

132,441 was the official attendance. Add 20-25,000 for the true attendance!

A fine result for Scotland and much needed given the result of the game between the two teams at Wembley the previous year. The famous - or should that be infamous - 9-3 match.

‘The 9-3 match at Wembley in 1961.’

‘Famous or Infamous’. Suppose it depends which side of the Border you are on!😀
