I agree what most are saying about our youth players being used but I’m disappointed to say all this talk of... Mount, James, Abraham, CHO etc etc. We’ll be lucky if a couple of our youth players make it to even be squad players irrelevant of talent.

 

Chelsea is not a youth player friendly club, we will always look to buy from outside instead of promotion our own. 

 

Which I’d be fine with if we’re buying the best in the world or players with really high ceilings but we don’t. We buy dross from other teams to fill out the squad ala Bakayoko, DD, Zappacosta etc... (I’m not saying he falls in to this list).

 

I’d love to be wrong and for all these players to break through but we’ve seen enough of this in the past, I just can’t see it.

 

Basically, we have the best RB in the league who is ONLY 29 & a fantastic prospect in James at 18/19. 

3 years time you’re talking 32 & 22 respectively and maybe they’ll be switching roles from start to back up. It just seems like wasting money on a position we don’t need to spend it on.

Hopefully they don't bring this guy in. Not that I know of him, but from what I've seen of Reece James in the Championship, the kid deserves to backup Azpi and learn from him and be the heir apparent 

It has gone pretty quiet on that front, so I don't think it will be happening this month, if it even happens at all.

Saw a rumour quoted as being the MIrror saying we were interested though personally think we will now not strengthen here this window.
