RedRobMol
Q: Does what happened to you in the Champion's League semi-final [in 2005] still bother you? A: They deserved to win it, that season was their season. So you can't be still thinking about the past. What's done is done. I don't care if the ball crossed the line or not. They won the Champion's League, so for me they deserved to win it that season, but I hope this season it'll be us. Q: Is it normal that it takes one or two seasons to get used to English football. Is English football so different? A: English football is different compared to what I knew before. For me it took me two seasons to do this now but maybe for someone else it is six months - like Dirk Kuyt, he's doing very well in Liverpool now. Q: Do you feel like you're the best striker in the world at the moment? A: No, I would never say that. It's not for me to say. I'm not watching my games to say I'm the best striker in the world. When I'm on the pitch I'm confident because I know I can try different things and sometimes it will work. My confidence is not about saying I'm the best striker in the world. My confidence is to say I know I can score. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature...pos2&cc=3 888 havent read the feature, i have to be honest, but this segment was posted on a liverpool board and it surprised me to see these comments coming from him, as i thought he was a turd. yorkleyblue
Why'd you think he was a turd Rob? Did he spill your pint down the boozer? Did he say offensive things in front of your (choose boy or girl)-friend? Did he come down the dole office waving his bling at you? Did he wear a shell-suit to your parents' wedding? Did he refuse to buy some hub-caps off you? Or was it something else? I've never actually met the bloke, so I don't know if he is or isn't a turd, so I'd be interested in exactly what Drogba did to you kev

An impression you're bound to get if you listen to half the crap spouted by the media. Not quite up there with that pillock from EUFA calling JM the Enemy of Football over Anders bloody Frisk's retirement, but close. loz
The bottom line is you thought he was a turd because of his antics on the pitch, exactly the same reason why a lot of Chelsea fans think Gerrard is a grade A a**e and why a lot of Liverppol and Chelsea fans probably don't think too highly of Scholes. However all you need to do is think about what you think of your own players in comparison to what other fans think of them and you realise that your own assessment of players is probably way out. For example Jimmy was such a moaning bugger on the pitch that even a lot of Chelsea fans didn't like him but off the pitch just about everyone Ihave ever heard speak about him speak very highly of him. Haoing said all that...bellamy is clearly a tw*t!!
RedRobMol
to sum this one up, i thought he was a turd because he is always cheating, and the interview last year on motd when he admitted he dives. I can understand you lot thinking poorly of Stevie, i dont think too highly of him myself (apart from the fact that i think he is a phenominally good player). I think Stevie is an attrocious captain for the majority and i cringe when i see him dive, but i really dont think he does it as much as you lot would like to beleive. I dont think too badly of Scholes, in fact i think he is one of their better ones, Neville, Ronaldo, Rooney, Ferdinand, all come above scholes in the turd stakes. I think Giggs is the only one i respect more than Scholes in fact. As for not buying hubcaps from me, I have only ever had one thing stolen from my car, and it happened in London mate, not Liverpool. Loud and Proud
TBH i think Drogba is a bit of a turd, twat, w**ker etc when he's rolling around on the floor. He hasn't done it as much this season but he still occassionally (once a game) does. God help him if he gets a boot in the face like JT did in Cardiff, cause knowone will come running to his rescue, as he spends half his life on the floor. Someone needs to tell Drogba the story about the boy who cried wolf.

Someone needs to tell Drogba the story about the boy who cried wolf. He took one in the face against West Ham! He has vastly improved on that front though. As for his going down 'once in a game' etc you have to take this on merit. If we have been under pressure and get the ball upto Drogba on the half-way line, he takes a nudge in the back and goes over, we get a free kick to ease the pressure. It gets us over the 1/2 wayline and into their half, taking pressure off the back four! I heard Gray at the weekend comment on our game. I think it was Nelson who blatently pulled one of our players over when we were breaking, 'Thats was a GOOD foul' mentioned Andy. Based upon the fact that he didn't let us break, but picked up a yellow card in the process. Joe Cole did the same in our last league game at the bridge after being on for about 5 mins. With the instances above they are yellow card deliberate bookable offence. THIS SEASON, Drogba does what he does just to gain the team an advantage and take pressure of the back four. He used to go over easier than Teddy Sheringhams scouse bird, but now stands his ground and is a real handful. Since commiting himself to becoming more of a team player, he has become a massive part of the team!!
