It isn't that surprising though as players vote somewhere near the end of January and hence we were just in the middle of our mid season 'slump' whereas utd were in good form. Until this competion changes so players vote round about now it will always be fairly meaningless.

Ahh well done to them, and Ronaldo for scooping both awards.

However, I laugh that Gerrard is in there icon_lol.gif Its like a token gesture! If they keep putting him in things he doesn't deserve to be in then its just going to make the whole thing meaningless and pointless.

Can't wait till the Championship team of the year is announced, sure Gerrard will feature in there too.

Heard Gary Stevens on Talksport (he grew up as a Chelsea fan so he ain't all bad) saying that the forms would be handed out and returned a.s.a.p., to get them out of the way as much as anything else. Players used to vote in the dressing rooms with conversations along the lines of "who are you voting for?" ... "I think I'll vote for Numpty" ... "ok I'll vote for him an' all" ... "yeah let's all vote for Numpty".
