Could you explain why James wasn’t counted as first scorer please @Zeta? Not that it would change much for me, I’m just curious as he technically was. Who did you count instead?

People who put James, put him as scoring for Chelsea. The correct first scorer would have been "Own Goal".

So then if say I predicted Chelsea 1-1 Brighton, Own Goal 34, would that mean of either side had an own goal as first scorer it would count?

I suppose you'd have to specify which team the goal counts for. No-one's ever predicted own goal before though.
