You see those incidents inside the box at every corner.kick.

never see them resulting in a penalty

Big difference between 18 people in the box on a corner kick, with all kinds of things going on, and the situation with Tomori and Mase with basically just them in the box along with the keeper.
apples and oranges!

I thought they did expose it pretty well scoring 3 goals mostly on fast breaks. Inter are only 5th in Italy.

I posted that at half when they were down 0-1.

Looks like they listened to me.

Now I know how the ref missed Cucerella  getting his hair pulled v Tottenham! . Too much going on.!

Maybe some sort of video technology could be used to assist the ref ?.

Another dominant performance from us yesterday. One of those big European nights when you feel nothing but pride. Once again Milan didn't stand a chance although this time the game was pretty much over after 20 minutes. After second goal of course we decreased the tempo and if it wasn't for James' injury (which hopefully isn't serious) it would've been a perfect night. Even when playing in second gear I had the feeling that we could've scored literally any time if we needed a goal.

If anyone is still in doubt, pen+red card was clear. Check the rules and you'll see it was a good example of "not attempting to play the ball".

Lukaku was one for " not attempting to play the ball" but that was because he's useless.

Yup pretty sure all of us would have agreed with the ref if had been the other way round !. In fact I think all of us were agreed that he was bent ....God knows how no one else got a red

Yellow card criteria in this game is certainly debatable. Pen + red card isn't. As I said everything is clearly written in the rules.

The refs decisions are certainly based on the rules of the game but he can also make his decision within the " spirit of the game ' "

which allows him to apply discretion when making a decision.

Strict adherence to the " rules" have given us the nonsense offside decisions where no material advantage is gained by a player at all

Actually, having reviewed the incident on my lap top monitor, I've decided that I've made a clear and obvious error, and agree with your pen plus red card.

( someone directed me to The Guardian's article on it, which said that TV pundits should learn the laws of the game before blaming refs and used our game as the perfect example in regard to the decision to red card and award a penalty) !

I think that Mount staying on his feet instead of flinging himself to ground made it look soft., And he deserves credit for that from pundits I think.. Anyway, about time we got a correct decision in our favour.
