It was 5-1 to Rangers after just 62 mins of this game!

I’ve always thought Rangers ‘took their foot of the gas’ and settled for 5-1.

Celtic, that day, seemed ‘out on their feet’ when the fifth goal was scored.

I was in the lower Copland Road Stand and directly in line with Ray Wilkins, when he struck the ball for that fantastic second goal.

Wow, what a great place to be to see Ray's strike. Agree, they could and should have scored more. I've checked who Chelsea played on the day and it was home to Blackburn Rovers and we lost 2-1. Leaving Stamford Bridge the score from Ibrox was announced. At first I thought I'd misheard the score but no. I was a very happy man knowing that despite Chelsea losing Rangers had won.

I’m sure there was quite a bit on Chelsea in the Rangers programmes that 1988-89 season.

I think you're right about that. I'm sure I have a few Rangers programmes from that season. I'll see if I can find them. Could take a while as they'll be buried along with all the other programmes I've bought over the years.

The Rangers teams from 1959-60 to 1963-64 were of a very high class according to what my late old man told me.

He was at a great many of their games.

The 1970 Scottish League Cup Final. Derek Johnstone scored the only goal of the game. Great to see Jinky congratulating DJ.

Ronnie McKinnon was the Rangers captain that day. John Greig was injured, but is shown in the bottom picture.
