We were interested, thought there was some value there, but then as the window moved on, and the price seemed to rise, we moved on to other targets. We were looking at a deal around £45m + add ons. Leipzig wanted more, and Spurs agreed to pay it. Hence we walked away.Much prefer walking away than paying over the top for someone who I never really wanted much anyway! My take too. At that price it seemed a sensible deal for a Bundesliga player and I think it was even €45m, not GBP. The market fell through for Nkunku and Jackson and we sensibly decided to hold back. Entering a bidding war makes sense for a Prem-proven, established player like Caicedo, whereas Simons was always a gamble. Spurs only paid £51m or whatever because no other club entered the bidding, two or more clubs and Leipzig would have walked away with closer to £80m.
September 22, 2025Sep 22 Author Been doing well at Spurs. Absolute travesty these twats wasted all summer trying to get him when he was just a smokescreen for Garnacho. Take Palmer's injury into consideration, it makes it all the more worse.
September 22, 2025Sep 22 Has he really been doing that well? Please dont bury me under an avalanche of data. Looks Ok might push on.We didnt get him. Hey Ho..................and i am in no way defending these twats. Edited September 22, 2025Sep 22 by OTL
September 22, 2025Sep 22 I've seen one Spurs game (West Ham one) and he didn't exactly blow me away, he was just okay. Think it's a bit too early to say unless he was truly world class v Brighton.
