we paid 7mil for cech.

sunderland have been overpaying everywhere (richardson ?5.5m, chopra ?5m etc)... but ?9m is a massive fee... actually I was going to say "massive fee for a keeper", but the top ones like cech and buffon are worth as much as anyone. a lot of players this season that I'm looking forward to seeing.

From what I've seen of Craig Gordon, he's an excellent young keeper and he's got an extremely good reputation north of the border. It was only going to be a matter of time before a premiership side showed an interest in him, but as good as he is, ?9m is way over the top at this stage in his career.

Gordon is a fine keeper. The fact that they have paid more for him then we did for Cech means nothing as the trasnfer market always goes up and transfers within Britain are always more expensive. He will do well for Sunderland however I don't expect him to be there for long.

No, the ?4m was for shrinks. No one in their right mind would join Sunderland.

IF he is a very good keeper, then I think its a good bit of buisness done by Roy Keane. A good goalkeeper is worth at least 10 points a season. If those extra 10 points keep Sunderland up, how much is Premiership survival next season worth to the club?
