Forsell proved his worth yesterday when he scored against us. He did not to celebrate his goal. Another "old boy" (now at Barcelona) had a lot to say and do last season. Look h the mighty has fallen now. They don't even want him there now. Maybe he might have spoken out of turn and too quickly. Forsell has proven to be the true gentleman.

I reacted on that too. It was a shock to see us concede a goal at that stage and I felt rather p*ssed off about it, but seing Forsells reaction made it better. It's always great to see a player show respect to his old team. Maybe there's still some blue blood in him icon_wink.gif

But let's stick to the point. Well done Forss, take a bow son.

I sometimes wonder if wet spam fans have taken over this site we spend so much bloody time slagging off our own.

Quality reaction from the player, same as Jimmy last year. Better than the 'badge kissing' brigade which now it seems to be the 'norm'!

Well done the pair of 'em.

what a bizarre pop at eidur gudjohnson.

I know!

I wonder what wouldve happened if Jose had said the same about Forssell as he did about Guddy ...

Ive got no problems with ex players celebrating goals or wins against us as long as they dont start really taking the piss like a certain geezer back in 2002....

Just being top scorer doesn't mean a player is less lazy, just means he's scored more goals than his team-mates. Mike Fillery was top scorer in 1982/83 with 9 league goals, does that mean he was a great goalscorer? icon_wink.gif

JFH's first two years at Chelsea, he was a goalscoring machine, the last two years his attitude was totally different and he spent most of his time blaming team-mates for his own mistakes, or because he couldn't be bothered to run two yards to collect a pass. Sorry if that upsets you, but it's true.

Oh, and back to the main topic - it was great to see Mikael Forssell fit again, I really rated him when he was at Chelsea. His reaction to scoring against us was pure quality, the man has class

well those last two years i will blame Claudio for being "the tinker man" rather than blame jimmy for our problems...had Claudio played Jimmy and Eidur regularly we probably would have done a lot better....we didn't lose many games when they played together and that is a fact

mikael is great, I hope he does well for brum.

jimmy had two excellent seasons, after which he was infuriating IMO.

So you would have played them ahead of a rejuvinated zola who was showing form as good as any we had seen at the club?

when we needed results we played Jimmy and Eidur...after Jimmys second season Claudio pretty much broke up the partnership between the two...but when Jimmy and Eidur did play we won...so yes i would have played them over Zola, we probably would have done better

Well zola got far more games that season than the previouse one and we came 4th, first season CR had managed to get us in to a CL place... the season before that when Jimmy and Eidur where starting together game in game out we didnt, we came 6 i think, some way of a CL place infact. Ipswich came higher!!

The only player we brought in that season was de lucas, hardly a world beater or even a spot of difference on the team.

Im going to let you work out exactly what the above goes to proove, but his a clue, goals arn't every thing!!

Hey I won't have anyone having a go at Fillers. Played in a match against him and Gary Stanley a few years back. Boy was I made to look a mug! :)

Fair play to 'Flossy' as we called him back in the day. Although I could have done without my missis saying "awww bless" after he scored". She is seriously loyal!
