Only player to come out of this game with any credit is Lampard.

If he missed that penalty just imagine the reaction of the entire country! And he knew it!!!

The England boo-boy took the ball of the England skipper, put it on the spot and stuck it away. I felt for the fella before the run-up as the weight of a nation rested on his shoulders.

Stevie G proved he cannot lace Lampards boots last night, England captain passed the buck and gave the ball away for the penalty. What a skipper....what a w**k*r!

Frank showed real balls to step up and take that penno in those circumstances.

As has been mentioned in other threads, Lamps certainly wasn't the worst player in a white shirt last night.

I think that accolade went to Bridgey. Played the whole game like he'd put his feet on back to front.

Frank did well for the pen, but apart from that was as inept as Saint Gerrard. Animation2.gif

Bridgy was poor but look at how many times he had to cover fro Lescott. It was embarassing.

I think we should put the burgermeisters of the FA, the inept team and the hapless management into the jungle.

The least they could do for us now to raise our spirits is chew on Kangeroos danglies to win our love back. 766.gif

Firstly .. Im Australian.

And a ticket holder at the Bridge.

BUT I must say; England were SO terrible. I want them to do well, I really do, but they play terrible football. Just bombing the ball into the box, with very little creativity or flair in the final third. Slowing the game down at the wrong times... Lamps yeah took his penalty, but I hardly saw him, he doesnt QB the England team, and seems to be lost at see. Cole, was good, but lacked flair. SWP should take part blame for number 2.

True Frank had a lot of pressure on him for the Penalty, and he kept his head and scored but that was not enough for a player of his quality in a game of that importance,

although he wasted the ball less than Gerard both of these world class midfielders should have stamped some sort of mark on the game,

I did think with Barry Holding (that was the plan right?) Lamps and Gerrard would be free to get forward more and at least work the Keeper with some shots that both players are capable of.

I cant understand the performance at all even with a makeshift back four it just seemed like they had no motivation and looked nervous but these two things dont normally go together no motivation means not really bothered and not bothered means no nerves.

confused again icon_confused.gif

I was praying for Lampard not to miss that penalty. Funnily enough it was not so much for England, but for Lampard himself. We would have never heard the end of it if he missed that one

But Barry didn't hold, did he? Mostly I saw him losing the ball just outside the opposition penalty area or else giving up tracking the runner for their second goal.

The problem is not the players. It is the manager who needs to impose a pattern of play and be capable of communicating it to the team.

SWP should take part blame for number 2.

And win this seasons award for the best impression of a lino

Exactly

Barry wasn't doing what he should have been to the extent that once they scored I was thinking if McClaren never wanted to make an early Substitution he could have put Barry at LB pushed Bridge up the wing and let Joey get nearer Crouch.

that way Gerrard and Lampard should have been able to cope at least knowing there was noone holding instead of not being sure icon_lol.gif

Yeah it wasn't one of his best games but he played better than most and did exceptionally well with the penalty, especially with the added pressure of missing one or two not so long ago. Not to mention the booing from the so called-England fans - the ones who'd bend over backwards for Stevie G - literally. Explains a lot, I'd say: "aaaww ickle Stevie Isn't he cute" .. pass the sick bucket when you've finished with it please.

But anyway, after the Shalke away game, I thought I'd wait a long time before seeing such a dire performance from a team of full internationals. But boy was I wrong. Comparison with last night's fiasco made our performance at Shalke look like a footballing masterclass.

This Lampard-Gerrard arguement is utter non-sense!

It really does my head right in!

Its really f**king boring!!!

At the end of it all.....

..... NO ENGLAND player that started the game yesterday comes out of this with any credit what so ever!

Nothing not a f**king shred!

Not Frank,not Joe,not SWP,not Bridgey NOBODY!

If everyone is honest England bombed out BIG-TIME!!

This has been one of the most depressing days!

I just aint got it in me to be one-eyed today.

Gutted!
