loz Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 My two first choices were Olympiakos and Celtic, probably after that Lyon. Much was made of Lyon's performance against Rangers but if the truth be known they weren't really that great. Rangers were appalling that night and Walter Smith made some fundamental errors which played right into Lyon's hands. The quality of French football at the moment is very very poor and I would have had little concern if we had drawn Lyon. However I think it is fair to say we have been just as lucky, if not luckier than Utd in this draw. Olympiakos away will not be a straight forward task however we should have enough to get through this tie.

Lyon this season are poor. One decent result only, the one at Ibrox and it hurts me to say Rangers were naieve on the night.
TheWestwayWonder Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 I too would rather have tha Greeks than Lyon. They might be looking awful now, but they beat Werder 7-3 in the knockouts a couple of years ago. Some great individual talent on that team Man United will dismantle them, though

Maybe they have not been as good as they have been the last two seasons but they have the experience and their pride. They've got Benzema in great form and that old brazilian midfielder can kill you with one good freekick any day..what was his name? ..... just dont remember his name... he is good.. Juninho!! There.
