Ivanovic our first January signing?

I was sure that this guy would be going to Juventus since they have watched him very close for a long time and also have talked with his club. The player has also stated that he want to go to Juventus.

But apparently Juventus has said that they won't buy him.

I haven't seen that much of him but apparently he's really good and talented. Wouldn't mind getting him to Chelsea. Maybe we can see him and Mancienne together in the future? Of course JT will be the one who trains them and teaches them everything he knows icon_wink.gif

Chelsea Swoop For Ivanovic - Report

Thu 03 Jan, 09:09 AM

Chelsea are set to sign Branislav Ivanovic from Lokomotiv Moscow according to Thursday's papers.

The Serbia defender - who had been expected to link up with Nemanja Vidic at Manchester United - now looks set for an £8million move to Stamford Bridge.

Ivanovic can play anywhere across the back four, and has won nine senior caps for Serbia.

He starred as the unfancied Serbians reached the final of last year's UEFA Under-21 Championship, being named in the Team of the Tournament despite a red card in the final.

With John Terry still a month away from fitness and Ricardo Carvalho banned, Ivanovic will provide cover in the centre.

But he can also play at left-back, adding fuel to rumours linking Wayne Bridge with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Liverpool a possible destination.

Does anyone who's seen this guy play know if he's fast? We really need a defender who knows how to sprint as well as tackle!

Well if it was a race between you and him to catch Cameron Diaz my money would be on you so judge for yourself.

Actually, he might win that race, geezer. The restraining order says I can't come within 50 yards of her, so I'm sure he'd overtake me eventually! icon_wink.gif

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are worried JT will be out for even longer with his injury hence their interest in this guy.

Seems almost a done deal by the looks of it.

If JT is out it will be interesting to see how well he slots in on a permanent basis with the first team squad.

Well to be fair he did play all across the back. The problem was that he sucked at it (apart from one game against Barcelona where he was magnificent) icon_lol.gif

I can't come within 50 yards of her

So many jokes yet none of them clean and are guaranteed to get me booted off the site forever so I'll give your feedline a miss this time.............. 247.gif

I'll be the little Ernie Wise to your Eric Morecambe any day, geezer!* icon_wink.gif

*though I'm not sure a Pirate can play a 'straight man' with any credibility!
