Chances are that despite the press suggesting we may buy two strikers, we'll probably keep Sheva until the Summer and only buy one now. So...which one do you want (out of the three we've been seriously linked with)?

Its a tough question. If they were offered for free, i'd take Villa over any of the others. But Anelka is available is for a reasonable fee it seems whereas Berbatov isn't and Villa is unlikely to be.

What Qaz said, really. It's hard to make a decision - Berbatov is quality, a reasonable age but has a high transfer fee. Anelka is also very good, a bit older but a much lower price tag. Villa is a great player, young and would cost around the same as Berba, but we don't know for sure how he'd perform in the Premiership. No idea about Huntelaar, his goal ratio is good, but so are a lot of players in that league (Kuyt, Kalou etc)

If you want the best you have to pay for it and if you are Chelsea you will be expected to pay extra anyway, whatever player you care to name. Also, whether you compare entertainment value with Premiership record or age with potential, or price with goal scoring ability, there’s always a gamble attached that usually involves the hope that the player concerned will improve in a certain area - although, of course, there is nothing that any of us can do about our age.

So, THE BEST with everything ’no object’ has got to be Berbatov, best on age (Huntelaar), best on experience (Anelka) and best on potential (Kenwyne Jones). Assuming that you knew for sure what the worst trait in any of them was, and your prayers were answered that it be rectified, I would like to see a happy, smiling, goal scoring Berbatov entertaining us all in the very near future. Then again, I wanted to see Tevez at the Bridge instead of at Old Trafford, so with my track record I’m expecting any one of the contenders, bar Berba, to arrive. Should that pessimism prevail and he isn’t the first forward to turn up on our doorstep, I’d quite like the first footer to be Jones.

I've gone for Berbatov. I think he is a fighter in many ways like Drogba. There's no doubt about his finishing, ability to create space and lead the line. He is ambitious and wants a big move. I would take him over Anelka, as Anelka has been there but not done that and now wants a 2nd chance. Berbatov is itching for glory and always gives every game his 100%. I think he would be the ideal signing for us and I would love for us to get him over Anelka. If we can spend 30M on a retired Shevchenko and surely we can spend 31M on a super strong Berbatov.

I like the idea of Berbatov, not just because he has a much better all round game than Anelka, but because he will be better long long term.

He's been at Spurs - what, just over a season, so I love the idea of picking up a player who hasn't already become too established at another club - like Henry was at Arsenal and Sheva at Milan. If we got Berbatov now, in a few seasons everyone will think of Berbatov the Chelsea Player. Whereas with Anelka, he would be useful to have short term but he's been around the block more times than an old Ford Cortina - bit of a journeyman.
