Posted February 22, 200817 yr http://www.chelseafc.com/page/NewsHomePage...1247217,00.html Bruce Buck has quelled long-standing speculation that Ronaldinho is a Chelsea transfer target. The club chairman reacted to a question suggesting interest in Barcelona's Brazil international by stating: 'I don't think it is likely Ronaldinho will be here next season. Certainly there have been rumours but I don't see that happening.' Buck, along with chief executive Peter Kenyon, has also talked about general transfer policy. 'We are not looking for players because they will sell more shirts in a certain part of the world,' he said. 'The process is for Avram Grant, Frank Arnesen and his scouting team to find players they believe will make Chelsea more successful on the pitch.' 'It is team performance which drives the business,' added Kenyon. 'It is less around the singular player 'We are always looking keep the age profile right and fundamentally a new signing has to be someone who can contribute to the team and hopefully with a long-term view on it.' Buck also spoke of his optimism that a new contract with Frank Lampard will be finalised. 'We want him to stay, he has said he wants to stay and he has also said he would like to delay discussions until the summer as he wants to concentrate on football. I believe that so I am optimistic we will be able to sort something out. 'He is a wonderful player, he's a superb guy and I would like to see him in the long term at Chelsea Football Club.'
February 23, 200817 yr Well, I had never really thought that Ronaldinho would become a Chelsea player.
February 23, 200817 yr I wonder if this sudden (and unnecessary) 'Official statement' from the club about Ronnie, has something to do with a deal being cooked up when Roman met with the owner of Milan, Carlo Ancelotti, a few days ago? I mean, speculation about Ronnie coming to Chelsea has been going on for years. Why comment now, when the transfer window isn't even open? Conclusion: Ronnie to Milan (probably Drogba too) in the summer, and in return Milan sell us... ? ... and don't try to out bid us on... ? ... But who or what is in it for us I wonder...

We'll get Kaka, Pato or Gilardino?
February 23, 200817 yr I don't think we will ever see Kaka at Chelsea even if he does one day leave Milan. Also Milan will not be selling Pato in the near future and Gilardinho would be a terrible signing for us.

After all, Sheva did...oh wait...
February 24, 200817 yr We'll probably get Emerson, Ronaldo and Nesta knowing our current transfer patterns.
