great to beat the arse today but means at best we prob gonna end up 2nd again, last year due to us not buying a defender in the january transfer window , and this year because of the faffing around with managerial musical chairs in september .However if Roman hadnt turned up in the first place we would probably be where leeds are.!ha ha.

We can still finish first, but we could easily finish third in the league. Every match is a must win from now on. We might not be able to catch United, and if we can't do that, it'd be nice to at least secure an automatic place in next season's UCL.

Actually, ever since I started to support Chelsea, every match was a must-win for me beg.gif

Same here...I want us to win every match, but sometimes there are matches that we can afford to lose, even if I don't like to see it happening. Now we can't afford to drop a single point and it still might not be enough.

But, it ain't over just yet... ::Scalf::

Are you pulling my leg?? Even with a clear lead, in the league and in a match, I see doom and gloom round the corner whacky086.gif You should have seen me after we were 3-0 up against Manure, when that match guaranteed us the 2005-06 title: even then I was a chain-smoking wreck crutches.giffuma3.gif

I was talking more about the matches after we had already secured the Championship(both 2005 and 2006). Hated seeing us dropping points, but I was able to be more calm as I knew that we were already the champions.

what frustrates me is off the top of my head I can reel off chelsea 1 everton 1, chelsea 4 villa 4, spurs 4 chelsea 4, as six dropped points that would actually have us in the lead at this point...i'm sure there are more...also does anyone know how many goals we've conceded from set pieces this season...it seems our biggest weakness...it's not just started this season as bolton scored their two goals in that crucial game in the bridge last season from set pieces and i think there were others...agger's equaliser in champs league semi and so on

Was it after that match that Jose said that maybe they should take a gun into the games so that they could take care of the crossed balls by shooting them...? icon_lol.gif

Man U are 5 points clear of us, with a way better goal difference.

We need to win all of our games and Man U need to lose two games (one of them to us) - losing to us and drawing another game should leave them with a better goal difference ahead of us with us level on points assuming we win all our games.

Bit of a long shot really. Fergie has been here before in Premiership run-ins, Avram Grant hasn't, and at this stage it is as much about mental as it is about tactical, physical, skill or teamwork attributes.

I will happily settle for top dog in London again after this season's shennanigans.

A nice run in the Champions League would be nice too - ie. overcoming Fenerbahce and Liverpool or Arsenal (if applicable).
