WE've been linked with a move for him in January previously.

Saw him play against Milan and thought he looked real quality. Out shone Alexandre Pato, and was a constant thorn in Gattuso and Zambrotta's side. He's small but stocky, really quick. He plays as a wide-forward/second striker for Napoli and i think he'd be an excellent replacement for Malouda/Kalou/Cole.

Premier League - Lavezzi not interested in Chelsea

Chelsea are interested in Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi but the Argentine has said he does not want to leave.

The 23-year-old has been inspirational in Napoli's rise to the upper reaches of Serie A this season and won a call-up to coach Diego Maradona's first Argentina squad for Wednesday's friendly in Scotland.

"I want to stay. I know Chelsea have looked at me but this issue is for my agent and the club," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I don't believe there is any intention to let me go and I am pleased about that: I'm really happy at Napoli."

Lavezzi hopes staying at Napoli, where Maradona won two Italian titles, will allow him to become a key Argentina player.

"I dream of becoming a fixture in the national team even if I realise that we have many good forwards and the competition is ruthless. Napoli will have to help me with this," he said.

I don't know much about his qualities yet - just the rumours so far which sound promissing but - but! It's slowly growing on my nerves with all the sheer arrogance of all those wannabe starlets. Reminds me of David Villa back then - maybe the ability is convincing but how to imagine a player arriving at the Bridge?

Another rumour on SkySports today linking us to Lavezzi although as usual it is not a rumour that appears to have any substance fro our side.

Napoli have a few very very good young players - maybe Hamsik being the best of the lot, but also Lavezzi and Santaocre and I would be very surprised if at least one of them don't move on however maybe not till the Summer. My guess is they will be looking for a bug fee for Hamsik and Lavezzi.

Let's hope he's nothing like the coffee brand lavazza and he doesn't go stale on the supermarket shelf for 6 months!
