I don't see him as a specific holding midfielder. He's more the box to box type having a huge lung capacity combined with a strong fysique presence and great technical ability. Rumour has it that the only reason for him seeing Ajax as a possibility was the oppurtunity to finish his uni's here. I however, do not reckon him to be ready this season, so it might be wise to loan him out for another season to Vitesse so that he can finish his uni's and then in a season or too take over Big Frank's place in midfield.

He didn't have the best season in his career. Fysically not as strong as Bruno but probably better in the technical aspects, loves to dribble up front whenever he has the chance. Reminds me a bit of a younger and (at the moment) lesser version of Vertonghen. Some rate him higher than Bruno while others doubt that. I think that his biggest problem might be him being to indifferent (could be his age) and trying to resolve everything in a neat way instead of blasting the ball away. For example, in an interview for a Dutch magazine he told that he was done with the Dutch league and felt like he needed to play at a higher level, the exact game after the interview he gave away a stupid throw in after which he walks back facing the goal, not seeing the striker running past him and scoring. A week before that something similar happened to him. Still I'd see both of them succeed at European top level if they get the right counseling.

Haha no problem, wasn't really a complaint! From what I've seen from him (Eredivisie and International level) he's going to be the Netherlands defender for the coming years. Media tout him to be the next Jaap Stam. In my opinion he's like a mix of Jaap Stam and Frank de Boer combining great fysique (both strong and fast) with good build up skills. If he gets the right amount of playtime (maybe sending him out on loan to Feyenoord) so that he'll ensure his place in the 2014 WC squad, I'd say he'll do a great job succeeding JT in two years from now.

Second time I'm saying this but why not try to sign Bruno Martins Indi from Feyenoord. He's young, regular international for the Netherlands since Van Gaal, Feyenoord are keen to sell as they're not playing him in his favoured position, can play both LB and CB + a good passer. Only problem might be that he wants a guaranteed place in the 1st 11, which we cannot grant him.

Why don't we try to sign Martins Indi? He's a tall strong pacey defender + a regular centre half for the Dutch national team since Van Gaal is there. Isn't (too) happy at Feyenoord since they've put him leftback. Shouldn't cost that much as well.

Saw him playing at Vitesse this year. Had a decent season, not really outstanding, don't think he'll be top of the league quality. His game against Spain u21's last tuesday was horrible! However, no one had a decent game. For the future i'd rate him as a back up for Bertrand at most. Should the club decide to buy Shaw, I think it's better to get rid of him asap.

I think we should only sell him when we're already sure about signing a player with the same qualities/greater potential. If we'd sell him without having a decent replacement, the squad is definitely going to lack in power.

I actually think Van Ginkel would be a good signing. Has been one of the steady eddies for Vitesse this year (along with Bony) at such a young age. He started out as an AM with a killer through ball. This season he played more as a box to box midfielder, something which suits him more imo.

Agree with that! Eventhough injuries really messed him up the past years I could still see him become a great DM.

I'd take Victor Wanyama, De Rossi, Fellaini or Witsel!

Marca just reported TSO is willing to let both Mata and Nando go in order to buy Dzeko and Jovetic. Now I can understand him willing to sell Nando but why in the world would he sell the best player of the last season? For the record I know that Marca is used to make up a lot of stuff, still the rumour worries me.

Hope (and think) that this not true. Didn't have the greatest form over the past few years + I don't see the need of signing another player while Kevin De Bruyne or Lamps could play in the same position (CM) which i reckon to be better/. I'd rather see us signing a more physical ball winning midfielder like Fellaini or De Rossi.
