  1. prefer some energy in the midfield and with two DMs it's harder to get that. Was ramires injured? Happy that ake was there though.
  2. One which I do not view on the same level as the others. Calm down :\
  3. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/22/brendan-rodgers-liverpool-form-weight-jersey alrite then. Wonder if this is new or just differently worded than yesterday
  4. Not with regards to the LC no, because he generally plays the fringe/youth players there (although the final against Birmingham City was a bottle). I disagree there: Winning the CL + the FA Cup was definitely preferred to finishing 4th in 2012, I agree. But if it's the difference between getting the LC and finishing fourth, it's fourth every time. It may hamper the the football club in terms of finance, players wanting/being able to stay, etc. Lol, if that "real" platitudinous bullsh*t is meant to be a dig at me, how utterly pathetic. You're in absolutely no position to assess who isn't and who is a real fan. I'm sure I could do the same with you. I know some other fans (real or not, whatever that means)who don't view regard the LC as one that prestigious, for similar reason as I've stated. It's been part of the english game for 50 years, but I'm just going to repeat what I said. The constant rebranding of the cup + the fact that lots of teams aren't seeming to take it that seriously (even the league 1+ sides), makes it less prestigious in my eyes. If clubs aren't caring as much then it's harder for me to get emotionally invested into it. If it was held in the same light, then they'd all play near-full strength teams, but they don't Yeh, it's great that Terry feels that way. He's probably one of the most passionate guys in the clubs existence so it's not surprise. By remember I'm assuming you mean how they earn their status as a big and global club, then yes, but it's the european cup + the division title (as well as the FA Cup) that really boost your profile, not this one. -- you say the club will be remembered by the trophies they won but it's the aformetioned titled that people look to first. They'll remember Chelsea's triumphant win over Munich for the CL, winning the title for the first time in decades back in 2005, etc. I've never seen people refer to the LC as one of the primary indicator of a club's status (nor some of the other defunct trophies, even if we had won many of them). It's a correlation you're observing there; nothing has been proven. It may have an effect but there are plenty of other reasons as to why the teams may win those titles. May as well point to the teams that won it but then didn't win the league after. Regarding the other bit, my thoughts are echoed in Xfactors post below; I want them to be more prepared/have a better squad for the things like the PL or CL. It appears you're assuming things. As I stated from my post, and I repeat, I would feel gleeful and be happy for the players. I will pay attention the games they play but it won't give me the same excitement as I would compared to competing for the other things. I wonder if some of the players feel about this? One incentive to care about the League Cup and FA Cup is that the winners get to play in Europe. For teams who already have a solid expectation of qualifying for Europe via the league - and there's even more up for grabs via the league now than there used to be, so many players in the top teams themselves may not care as much about it either. Not trying to assume things but last year it looked as if Willian was the only guy who really looked upset to be out. Another reason why it's harder for me to feel a high level of investment into this. It's a nice accolade to have, yes, but I just don't see it in the same light as you do. Anyways, I've got little to nothing to gain by arguing further with you (or those petty remarks, if they were, ignore if not) so this'll likely be my last response to you. Those reasons above are why I don't have the same interest in this as the other ones.
  5. mr pellegrino LOOOOL. I don't know why that makes me laugh so much
  6. actually lol'd at that. Surely he's not thinking of this bollocks himself
  7. Erm, it's all opinions. Not meaning to offend you by what I said but I don't understand the outrage really. A manager (think it was Wenger) once said that finishing fourth is more important than winning it and he's right. When even Championship and League One clubs are now playing weakened teams in a 3/4 empty stadium, something is badly wrong. There's barely any prize money and changing the sponsor name every few years doesn't help. In the past 20 years or so it was being referred to as the Coca Cola Cup, Worthington Cup, Carling Cup, Capital One Cup by everyone (media, clubs alike)... hardly sounds prestigious does it? Is the Football League Cup, so it should be for Football League teams. As we progress further it means more games and more potential for injuries, fatigue and the like, which may (hopefully not) negatively impact the ability or potential to say, win the PL, CL, FA Cup or getting top 4, which I value much more. l'll have some feeling of glee and be happy for the players, indeed, if they won it. Re: your final comment. When it looks like we're in a situation where we won't win a trophy for a while, then I'll have to then care for it more. At the moment though, that hypothetical scenario isn't likely to be applicable any time soon.
  8. dont really care for this. Never been a fan of the carling cup. Cech Azpi-Zouma-Cahill-Luis Ake-Baker Salah-Oscar-Remy Solanke
  9. i agree with this. Schurrle done little wrong overall tbh.
  10. Mourinho's fault for sitting back when City were there for the taking. As well as useless substitutions like Mikel who was invisible and didn't track a paceless Lampard's run, and bringing on Drogba who is a well past player instead of Remy.
  11. hopefully nasri doesnt go on -- he always scores vs chelsea
  12. feel uneasy about ivan and cahill. not sure how jose will have the team set up for this one.
