The point of pre-season is to get fit yes and mentally prepared for the upcoming season; haven't exactly seen a great progression when the season is in just under 2 weeks. I don't know why pre-season suddenly means poor performances against lower-table teams either; not as if we were playing a youth team mainly. Doesn't take away that losing to Bremen 0-3 is annoying. we were good last season because we played against an indonesian team and a youth AC Milan team. Dunno about great.

Because that area should be improved on Hazard has played the majority of his games on the left. Willian doesn't provide enough in terms of attacking play Salah just looks like a poor man's Schurrle and I've seen nothing to suggest he'll be a very good player; not even when he was playing against us. Oscar hasn't got the pace to play there and there's a reason he's playing as a #10. Mourinho seems adamant to have him there too with the "Oscar is my #10" Ramires can't even do a job there; not sure where you've gotten that idea from. Other than that goal for Barca his general play has been awful Schurrle is the second best option. Posted this before but however, he is a system player and really relies of space exploitation for his game so in that regards he's limited -- so if he doesn't have space to run at people he's going to lay the ball off backwards (making the attack lose momentum) and find some space as he doesn't have that ability to create a chance when he's being tightly marked. However players like Di Maria, Hazard, Aguero, Griezmann, Suarez etc. can literally make a chance out of nothing, even when they're tightly marked for a lot of the game. I'm not even talking about just "doing a job there" (what would be the point?) I'm talking about people who would really be effective in that area; which is why I'm suggesting to sign a marquee player like Di Maria, who would be much better than anyone else we have bar Hazard (who he'd still be better than but not hugely). I do feel we'll need another marquee signing if we're to win the title. If a player like him comes available I don't think you should just say 'well we don't need him' -- we make room for a player like that if he's much better than what we have. edit: To add, it seems everyone bar hazard doesn't want to take players on. If there isn't a top quality player available then there's no reason, but like I said, if Di Maria was available, then we should fight tooth and nail to get him.

Not surprised. You shouldn't really sign for Chelsea (especially under Mourinho) if you're a young player, unless you're basically the finished produced and not a raw player like Hazard. One that I feel, Mourinho couldn't be bothered to manage or develop. Won't be surprised if Arsenal get him within the next few years if they're not able to find a WC striker by that time.
